PCDL hires new director

EATON — Following a lengthy search, the Preble County District Library has its new director.

In a press release last week, PCDL officials announced its “director search has come to an end with the hiring of our new Library Director, Suzanne Cline. The PCDL Board of Trustees voted to hire Cline in early October, and her first day of work was Oct. 21.”

Cline will be replacing Interim Director Sarah Tozier, who has been serving as interim director since early June, as well as Head of the Youth Department and Eaton Branch Manager, the release noted.

“We are so happy to have Suzanne as our new director, and we look forward to the improvements she can bring to our district by leveraging her many years of experience,” Tozier said.

According to PCDL officials, Cline began her library career in the Dayton Metro System before becoming Head of the Children’s Department at Marion Public Library, and then Executive Director of the Shelby County Library System for almost 20 years. “During her time in Shelby County, Cline was behind a significant push to modernize and upgrade library systems and completed a major building project to replace and improve facilities across the district,” the release noted.

“Looking toward the future, Cline hopes to help grow the PCDL and increase our presence in the community,” the release continued. “She hopes to collaborate with community partners and introduce new library services that cater to the needs of Preble County, while spreading the word about the many great services we already offer.”

“I’m excited for this opportunity to bring my experiences to a new community. I look forward to rising to the unique challenges of Preble County, and doing my best to serve our patrons,” Cline said.
