Cowboy Fall Classic starts Monday

The Cowboy Fall Classic kicks off on Monday, Sept. 30, with the All American Quarter Horse Congress Cutting, bringing a month of “true western events, with real western cowgirls and cowboys” to Preble County.

EATON — In October, Eaton is the place to be for those interested horses and competition. The Cowboy Fall Classic kicks off on Monday, Sept. 30, bringing a month of “true western events, with real western cowgirls and cowboys” to Preble County.

A series of events across the month will offer exhibitors and spectators a true experience in Preble County at the Bullen Equestrian Center located at the Preble County Fairgrounds, officials said in a social media post.

This year’s Cowboy Fall Classic includes three events: The All American Quarter Horse Congress Cutting which begins Monday, the Cowboy Fall Classic Ranch Show and The Cowboy Fall Classic Mounted Shooting event with 1st Ohio CMSA.

Tuesday, Oct. 1: 8 a.m., All American Quarter Horse Congress Cutting

Wednesday, Oct. 2: 8 a.m., All American Quarter Hone Congress Cutting

Thursday, Oct. 3: 8 a.m., All American Quarter Horse Congress Cutting; 4 p.m., Fred’s Bar opens; Judge Clinic with Andy Adams following show and Hula Hoop Contest sponsored by Horse Industry Podcast

Friday, Oct. 4: 8 a.m., All American Quarter Horse Congress Cutting; 4 p.m., Fred’s Bar opens; 7 p.m., live music from 4Low

Saturday, Oct. 5: 8 a.m. All American Quarter Horse Congress Cutting; 4 p.m., Fred’s Bar opens; 7 p.m. cutter banquet in honor of Scott Stockslager and awards ceremony

Saturday, Oct. 12: 8 a.m., Ranch Horse Show — Cow Classes

Sunday, Oct. 13: 8 a.m., Ranch Horse Show — Dry Classes

Saturday, Oct. 19: 8 a.m., Cowboy Mounted Shooting

Sunday, Oct. 20: 8 a.m., Cowboy Mounted Shooting

There will also be local and other shopping and food vendors located in the “vendor square” on the fairgrounds, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. each day of the events. Admission for spectators is free.
