VERSAILLES — Brookville’s cross country teams Saturday competed in the Versailles Tour De Sewer Cross Country Invitational. The race’s odd name is based on the fact that the race traverses a portion of the sewage treatment facility.
The Lady Devils took 1st place in a field of 15 teams, only nine of which scored points. The Blue Devils boys team placed 4th in a field of 16 teams, of which 13 scored.
Dylan Ballin placed 6th in the girls race in 21:49.7 followed by Hunter Gardner 7th in 21:50.4 and Ella Renner 9th in 21:54.4. Ava Rismiller of Versailles took 1st place in 20:27.1.
Other Brookville girls included Serenity Suggs 14th (22:19.3), Cayleigh Tipton 17th (22:52.3), Lindsay Rieder 24th (23:24.1), Kyra Hope 38th (24:09.7), Savannah Young 63rd (26:30.7), Seraphine Deardurff 66th (26:38.4), Nora Dunkle 70th (27:43.7), Kayln Combs 76th (28:42.4), and Ava Ullery 87th (30:48.7).
Twin Valley South runners Hailey Turpin finished 52nd (25:23.4) and Baylee Bailey 56th (26:09.6).
Lucas Tipton led the Brookville boys placing 13th in 17:45.2. Bennett Lehman of Ansonia took 1st place in 16:01.1.
Other Brookville runners included Evan Pentecost 36th (18:41.4), Greyson Florkey 41st (18:45.4), Logan Wright 42nd (18:48.6), Sam Seitz 52nd (19:15.1), Chase Puskas 56th (19:28.5), Christian Seitz 63rd (19:51.5), Luuk Fokkink 65th (19:53.1), Drew Stammen 71st (20:07.4), Dylan Meyers 81st (20:54.0), Alex Waggoner 82nd (20:59.0), Blake Stacy 97th (21:53.6), Carson Barr 127th (23:39.5), Warrick Deardurff 141st (25:29.7), Trent Barr 145th (26:20.9), Skylar Logan 150th (28:59.5), and Benjamin Manley 151st (30:11.9).
Twin Valley South runners Hibiki Matsumoto was 16th (17:53.3), Samuel DeHart 19th (18:02.9), Hunter Todd 58th (19:38.5), and Matthew DeHart 147th (27:20.0).
