PC Auditor shares August financial report

EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright last week shared her monthly financial report for the month ending Aug. 31.

According to Wright, during the month of August, the county’s General Fund receipts totaled $2,483,534.95. Sales tax revenue for August totaled $674,378.24 from June sales. Local taxation came in at $37,763.62, charges for services at $273,760.62, interest at $103,761.10, and fines and forfeitures at $5,054

Her report noted, the next quarterly casino tax which will be receievd will be in October. The 1-mill conveyance receipts totaled $11,749.80, and there were no expenditures for the month, she added.

As for expenditures, the August General Fund disbursements totaled $1,407,665.92, according to Wright’s report. Salaries, P.E.R.S. and Medicare disbursements for August were $983,353.65. She noted, there were three payrolls for the month.

Total expenditures included supplies at $34,693.03, health insurance at $127,154.73, contract services at $189,353.55, utilities at $12,985.80, and training/travel, advertising/printing, and other expenses at $16,152.93.

According to Wright, the General Fund began 2024 with a cash balance of $13,619,097.63 and ended the month of August with $14,951,751.23.

General Fund receipts for August 2024 increased by $369,760.83 over August 2023, she noted. Sales tax increased by $11,701.59, charges for services increased by $33,362.31, and interest decreased by $45,115.58.

Expenditures for August 2024 were more than what they were in 2023 by $407,605.99, according to the report which noted, supplies costs decreased by $2,041.34, contracted services increased by $6,565.72, equipment- increased by $3,039.89 and Other expenses decreased by $21,071.64,
