Preble County ready to celebrate July 4

The Preble County Historical Society’s annual Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration has become a tradition which includes live music at The Amphitheatre during the fireworks display. Pictured, last year’s PCHS fireworks show.

PREBLE COUNTY — Several local organizations will provide Fourth of July fireworks later this week, celebrating the United States’ in style beginning this Thursday.

The West Alexandria Celebration Committee is set to commence the Independence Day festivities in Preble County with its Party in the Park event on Thursday, July 4. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, craft vendors, inflatables, a car show, and more at Peace Park from 1-7 p.m. The celebrations will continue with a lighted parade at 9:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. at Twin Valley Schools.

On Friday, July 5, Hueston Woods State Park is hosting a celebration featuring fireworks at dusk over Acton Lake. There is no admission fee.

The Gaydosh Family Fun Fireworks event will take place at the Lakengren Marina on Saturday, July 6, from 7-10 p.m.

The Preble County Historical Society is set to host its annual Old-Fashioned Independence Day Fireworks celebration on Sunday, July 7, from 4-11 p.m. The event will take place at the historical center, located at 7693 Swartsel Rd., Eaton, off Ohio 122. Visitors can look forward to live music, food trucks, raffles, various fun activities, and fireworks at dusk, among other attractions. The gates will open at 4 p.m. at the Preble County Historical Society Amphitheater. Parking is offered at $20 in cash, with a discount available for online reservations at www.preblecountyhistoricalsociety.com. The Gala of Hope and the Preble County Development Partnership are sponsors of the event.
