Remembrance Walk raises nearly $35,000

DAYTON — More than 520 members of the community participated in Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton’s annual 3K/5k Remembrance Walk on Oct. 21, 2023, at the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Hospice House, raising nearly $35,000.

“The Remembrance Walk is a wonderful event to honor the memory of loved ones,” said Jill Lewis, development director with the Ohio’s Hospice Foundation. “The event also is an opportunity to raise funds to support patient care and services at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, including grief counseling, complementary therapies, and financial assistance for patients unable to pay for their care.”

Memory walk signs to memorialize loved ones were placed along the walking path. Snacks and T-shirts were given to participants before the walk began.

Awards were given to the top individual and the top team. The top Individual award was given to Jennifer Weatherly, and the top team award was given to Hearts for Hospice.
