The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, Aug. 9, Englewood report 230001290: Tiffany Anna Renee Van Winkle, 45, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Walmart, issued a court summons and released.

Thursday, Aug. 10, Englewood report 230001294: Tyler E. Garner, 31, of Greenville, was charged with theft and possessing drug abuse instruments and Emily R. Newman, 26, of Greenville, was charged with complicity of theft and possessing drug abuse instruments at Walmart. Both were transported to the county jail.

Englewood report 230001296: Morris A. Kimbrough, 42, at large, was charged with criminal trespass at Miami Valley Hospital North and transported to the county jail.

Friday, Aug. 11, Brookville report 23-00331: Phillip E. Schmidt, 49, of Celina, was arrested by Shelby County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant out of Brookville for failure to appear for a traffic offense. Schmidt was turned over to a Brookville officer and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Englewood report 230001303: Coty J. Waring, 33, of Springfield, was charged with theft at Meijer and transported to the county jail.

Sunday, Aug. 13, Brookville report 23-00332: Two people witnessed a subject break a neighbor’s back window and enter the residence. The witnesses identified the subject as the neighbor’s grandson. The grandson came to the police department the next day to turn himself in on a warrant. Steven C. Johnson, 36, at large, was arrested on a warrant out of Miami Township. His grandparents signed a refusal to prosecute for the burglary. Johnson was transported to the county jail on the warrant.

Englewood report 2300013143: a 15-year-old female and a 17-year-old female, both from Trotwood, were charged with the theft of a motor vehicle at Walgreens and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

Monday, Aug. 14, Brookville report 23-00335: Devin W. Marlowe, 27, of Dayton 45404, and Jessica P. Tucker, 26, of Dayton 45431, were both arrested on warrants, each for aggravated possession of drugs. Marlowe and Tucker were transported to the county jail. Staff at the jail refused to accept Marlowe due to a medical condition. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

Clayton report 230000927: Police responded to the Northmont High School baseball field to assist with an arson fire. An unknown subject set the porta potty on fire burning the entire back side creating a large hole. Police located a home on Crestway Drive with a camera and attempted to contact the homeowner to see if the camera captured footage of the incident, but no one answered the door. A business card was left for the residents.

Tuesday, Aug. 15, Brookville report 23-00336: Devin W. Marlowe, 27, of Dayton 45404, was arrested at the Brookville Inn on a warrant for aggravated possession of drugs. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Marlowe was transported to the county jail.

Englewood report 230001320: Baraka M. Ndayisaba, 21, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft at Walmart, issued a court summons and released.

Wednesday, Aug. 16, Clayton report 230000934: The theft of a boy’s bike was reported at United Dairy Farmers. The victim rode his bike to UDF to meet with friends and left his bike propped up against the north wall. When his friends arrived, they parked their bikes next to the victim’s and went inside. When they came outside only one bike was missing.

Thursday, Aug. 17, Clayton report 230000939: An unknown subject stole the foam insert from a grave site flower vase at Bethel Cemetery on Phillipsburg-Union Road. The victim stated the foam insert does not come out of the vase easily and would require the use of a tool to remove it. He stated the foam insert was stolen in a previously unreported incident that took place in March.

Clayton report 230000940: A resident reported that an unknown subject used his Social Security number to open a cell phone account with AT&T. The victim contacted AT&T and learned the cellphone was shipped to 184 Southern Blvd., Danbury, Conn. The victim received a letter from a collection agency totaling more than $777.
