K9 Splash Zone receives $4,000 grant

DALLAS, TX — The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community, announced that Brookville-based small business, K9 Splash Zone, has been awarded a $4,000 fourth quarter 2022 Growth Grant generously sponsored by AARP to help support small businesses owned and operated by older American entrepreneurs.

K9 Splash Zone, owned by NASE member Susan Fife, was awarded a fourth quarter Growth Grant in 2022. K9 Splash Zone is a 14 acre fully fenced facility situated in the Dayton-Cincinnati-Columbus area. It is not only the largest dock diving pool in the area, but also is the only Competition Size Pool in the region.

“Brookville small business, K9 Splash Zone, was chosen for this Growth Grant award because they demonstrated a well-defined plan for growth, ranging from executing new marketing initiatives, purchasing new equipment, and additional creative ways to grow and expand. As one of the growing number of older Americans who are small business owners, we’re thrilled to collaborate with AARP to award NASE member Susan Fife and K9 Splash Zone with a $4,000 Growth Grant award,” said John Hearrell, NASE’s vice president of membership and affiliate programs.

“America’s small business and self-employed community is the lifeblood of our economy. Over the course of the last few years, the American small business community has experienced a surge of new small businesses opening and expanding, representing the true entrepreneurial spirit of America’s resilience and determination. We are thrilled to support K9 Splash Zone’s expansion and growth.”

Last year, NASE awarded $88,000 in total grants to 22 small businesses to support their growth and expansion of business operations while also helping them emerge from the COVID pandemic. In 2023, the NASE has increased its awards even more.

For nearly 20 years, NASE’s focus has been on finding the most effective way to bolster success for small business and self-employed members in communities across the country. NASE has awarded over $1 million since the program’s inception, which helps to fuel local economies.

Applications are considered on a rolling basis throughout the year and winning small businesses will be awarded $4,000 grants each quarter throughout 2022 and 2023. Visit the Growth Grant page for more information.
