JFS to hold Rapid Response event Tuesday

JFS will hold a rapid response event to educate Preble County residents impacted by recent layoffs.

EATON — In response to the recent layoffs at Silfex in Eaton, and the upcoming reductions rendered to welfare and Medicaid, the Preble County Jobs and Family Services Department (JFS) have announced a Rapid Response event on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to educate those affected on available services provided in Preble County.

In a press release, JFS announced: “OhioMeansJobs Preble County has been made aware of recent layoffs that took place at Silfex in Eaton and Springfield. A Rapid Response event will be held at Eagles Point gym located at 307 North Cherry Street, Eaton, on Feb. 14, sponsored by Positive Points Inc. The event will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m. with a Rapid Response session to explain the services OhioMeansJobs has to offer and will include representatives from Ohio Department of Job and Family Services who will talk about unemployment.

“From 1:00-4:00pm there will be a job fair for those who were affected by the layoffs. We encourage those who plan to attend to register by phone at 937-456-6224 option 2. Please come with your resumes in hand, if you need assistance with creating a resume you can stop by your local OhioMeansJobs center prior to the event.”
