NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Northmont Academic Challenge team won a tournament the weekend of Oct. 26 at the University School of Nashville, posting a perfect 9-0 record.
The team defeated schools from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia to win this event. This was the second tournament win of the season, as they won the Tiffin Columbian tournament earlier this month.
Northmont’s team is currently ranked No. 1 in the state (after winning state last year) and has a record of 33-5 on the season, losing only to teams who are some of the best in the country.
“We are awaiting the first national ranking, but I would be shocked if we were any lower than 30th in the country, probably higher,” said team advisor David Jones.
