BROOKVILLE — City manager Jack Kuntz announced the city’s first “Age Friendly Lunch and Learn” is scheduled for noon on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Leiber Center in Golden Gate Park, located at 545 Upper Lewisburg-Salem Road.
“This program offers seniors and retirees a free lunch with a guest speaker,” Kuntz said. Kuntz indicated November’s guest speaker is Brookville police officer Forest Wilson. “He’ll be discussing ways to make sure the community can stay safe from fraud and identify theft,” Kuntz said.
Wilson was named by Brookville Police Chief Doug Jerome as the Brookville Police Department’s 2023 “Officer of the Year.”
Kuntz noted anyone interested in attending needs to make a reservation by Nov. 6. Reservations may be made by calling Ronda Dittrick at (937) 833-2001, extension 4, or emailing her at [email protected].
Kuntz stressed reservations must be made by the Nov. 6 deadline “so we have an accurate head count to order food.”
“Brookhaven is sponsoring the event and they are providing the lunch,” Kuntz advised.
In other matters, Kuntz thanked the city service department personnel for all their work in cleaning up the storm debris.
Kuntz also thanked the service department crew for “helping Barton Malow get the final leg of the Hay Avenue bank demolition completed.”
“These guys are often out there doing jobs we often take for granted and we really appreciate all their effort in responding to situations when they arise and addressing circumstances before they become issues,” Kuntz said.
Kuntz advised the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office is offering information to reduce property taxes on properties which were damaged in the recent storms.
“If your property was damaged, please go to www.mcauditor.org or call (937)225-4326,” Kuntz said.
