EATON — The Preble County Board of Developmental Disabilities hosted its annual Track-N-Treat event for the community on Tuesday, Oct. 15, giving children and families a chance to enjoy an autumn family event for all ages.
Accprding to DD officials, 53 community partners collaborated to help pass out candy and 39 volunteers helped organize the event hosted this year at Seven Mile Park in Eaton. More than 600 children and adults came out to enjoy the fun and collect treats.
“In addition, the Eaton Band Boosters and the Eaton High School band students took a day from school to give back to the community,” a DD media release noted. “They put together a family-friendly Spooky Woods, performing for 247 people who went through their amazing outdoor theater.”
“Preble DD extends its deepest appreciation the community for its continued support,” the release continued. “Those who made generous donations to the event include: HIT Foundation, Free 2 BU Residential Services, Bullen Ultrasonics, Covenant of Peace Church, Betsy & Ladd Gorby, Dave Morgan Home Improvements, Meg Jones, Vonderhaar Farms and Miami Valley Community Action Partnership.”
Spooky season continues this week, with beggars’ night scheduled for treak-or-treaters in communities across Preble County Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Lakengren and Verona each held their events last Saturday and Sunday respectively.Trick-or-treating will be held in Camden, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.; College Corner, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.; Eaton, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.; Eldorado,Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Gratis, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.; Lewisburg,Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; New Paris, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.; West Alexandria, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6:30 to 8 p.m.; West Elkton, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5:30 to 7 p.m., and West Manchester, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
