PREBLE & NORTHERN MONTGOMERY COUNTIES — Area volleyball teams will begin their postseason this coming weekend. Teams learned their path to the state tournament when the district tournament draws for all seven divisions were held Sunday, Oct. 6.
Division II
District semifinals
No. 1 Northmont vs. No. 4 Stebbins at Butler, Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. Winner advances to district final to be played on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Kettering Fairmont.
Division IV
District quarterfinal
In the North 2 bracket, No. 7 Eaton vs. No. 6 Oakwood at Centerville, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m. Winner meets either No. 5 Waynesville or No. 10 Alter in the district semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7:15 p.m.
The district finals are slated for Saturday, Oct. 26 at Troy.
Division V
District quarterfinal
In the North 1 bracket, No. 1 Brookville plays either No. 11 Valley View or No. 12 Dixie at Brookville, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. Winner plays either No. 6 Jamestown Greeneview or No. 10 Springfield Shawnee on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in the district semifinals.
In the North 2 bracket, No. 9 Preble Shawnee vs. No. 4 Miami East at Brookville, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. Winner meets either No. 5 West Liberty-Salem or No. 8 Springfield Northwestern on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the district semifinals.
The district finals are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 at Lemon-Monroe.
Division VI
District quarterfinal
In the North 1 bracket, No. 7 Twin Valley South plays either No. 3 Fort Recovery or No. 8 Yellow Springs at Arcanum on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m.
Also in the North 1 bracket, No. 13 Tri-County North plays No. 1 Arcanum at Arcanum on Saturday, Oct. 19 at noon. The winners will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. in the district semifinals.
In the North 2 bracket, No. 10 National Trail opens with No. 6 Ansonia at Arcanum on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. The winner meets either No. 2 Anna or No. 12 Triad in the district semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
The district finals are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 at Vandalia-Butler.
