EATON — Preble County Chamber of Commerce officials have begun the search for a new executive director, after announcing the resignation of current director Karen Moss.

Chamber Chair Zach Shafer announced Moss’ resignation last week, noting Moss “has decided to step down from her role, with her final day being Oct. 25.”

“We are deeply grateful for her dedication and contributions over the past three years. Karen has been an invaluable part of our chamber, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” Shafer said.

According to Shafer, a search committee comprised of board members has been established, and the process of selecting a new Executive Director is currently underway. “For those connected to the Leadership Preble County program, please rest assured that the board is fully committed to the continued success of the program. Karen will remain actively involved in leading the new cohort during this time of transition,” he added.

Moss sent her own message to members as well.

“I wanted to let you all know that I will be resigning from my position, effective Oct. 25,” she stated. “After working for 40 years in a variety of interesting and enriching roles, I’ve decided it’s time to take a step back, take some time off, and focus on me! It’s been an incredible journey, and I’ve truly enjoyed my role here and the relationships I’ve built along the way. While I’m super excited about this next chapter, I will definitely miss working alongside all of you.

“The Chamber Board is actively looking for someone to take on this role, and I encourage you to share the job posting with anyone who might be a good fit — particularly someone who is a strong advocate for Preble County or has a deep interest in the area,” she continued. “Thank you for your support and friendship over the years. I’m looking forward to staying connected as I move into this exciting new season of life!”
