EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright last week shared the county’s financial report for the month of September.
During the month of September, according to Wright, General Fund receipts totaled $1,198,000.72. Sales tax revenue totaled $645,398.52 from July sales, local taxation came in at $293,349.63, charges for services at $69,138.18, interest at $114,567.70, and fines and forfeitures at $2,753.51.
The next quarterly casino tax will come in October.
The 1-mill conveyance receipts totaled $16,577.50 and there were no expenditures for the month, she reported.
Expenditures
September 2024 General Fund disbursements totaled $1,153,883.51, according to Wright. Salaries, P.E.R.S. and Medicare disbursements for September were $646,149.81.
Total expenditures included the following: supplies $30,770.50, health insurance $128,208.15, contract services $162,744.40, utilities $13,135.26, training/travel, advertising/printing, and other expenses $17,029.70.

The General Fund began 2024 with a cash balance of $13,619,097.63 and ended the month of September with $14,995,868.44, according to the report.
General Fund receipts for September 2024: increased by $41,565.27 over September 2023; sales tax increased by $52,950.50, charges for services decreased by $33,528.82, and interest decreased by $33,320.65, according to Wright.
Expenditures for September 2024 were less than they were in 2023 by $431,211.68. Supplies increased by $10,029.37, contracted services decreased by 104,525.26, other expenses decreased by $30,529.02, and equipment increased by $47,355.86.
