CLAYTON — Freshman Ashlyn Bazile scored five goals Wednesday and senior Jayelin Alexander had a pair as Northmont scored a 10-0 shutout win over Wayne on Senior Night.

Bazile netted the first two goals and Alexander scored the third. Bazile followed with her third goal of the night to make it 4-0 and Alexander scored off rebound by a teammate’s shot initially blocked by Wayne goalkeeper Amya Jacobs to give Northmont a 5-0 lead.

Bazile scored again to put the Lady Bolts up 6-0 at halftime and the rout was on.

Senior Myrah Peters opened the second half scoring at the 36:27 mark followed by another goal by Bazile.

Senior Grace White scored the ninth goal when she got past Wayne goalkeeper Lily Duvall who came out of the net to defend and sophomore Chinaza Ibe made it 10-0 with 30:32 remaining.

From there the Lady Bolts politely kept the ball in their half of the field by passing the ball back and forth and making no effort to take the ball past midfield. The few times the ball made it into Wayne’s half, the Lady Bolts dribbled the ball back and played keep away to run out the clock.

With the win Northmont improved to 3-4-0 in conference play ad 8-7-0. Wayne fell to 1-6-0 and 2-13-0.
