Indictments issued in drug, other cases

EATON — During a Monday, Oct. 7, session, a Preble County grand jury returned indictments on several individuals, including multiple drug trafficking charges.

Among those indicted was Christopher Lee Fulton, 808 N. Barron St., Eaton, who was indicted on charges including aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Eaton Police Division on Sept. 17, the EPD conducted a short-term drug trafficking investigation involving Fulton. A traffic stop was conducted and K9 Rossi gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.

Also indicted were Robert Stanley Johnson, 101 ½ W. Dayton St., West Alexandria, and Clyde William Miller, 6073 Ivy Lane, West Alexandria.

Stanley was indicted on charges including aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Miller was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Sheriff Mike Simpson, on Thursday, Sept. 19, Preble County Sheriff’s deputies were “working complaints of trafficking in drugs in the West Alexandria area.” During the investigation, investigators determined that one of the two males was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, Simpson reported. “Investigators contacted a male subject leaving a garage at 101 ½ West Dayton Street and learned that he was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, and that he had just ‘traded’ for the drugs with a male in the garage. Deputies contacted the male in the garage and were granted consent to search the garage,” Simpson said in a press release.

Investigators located approximately seven grams of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales and meth pipes. Johnson admitted to selling methamphetamine from the garage, which is located within 1,000 feet of Twin Valley South Schools.

Others indicted Monday included: Anson Clyde Scott Ford, 3034 Elim Estates Dr., Columbus, aggravated possession of drugs with forfeiture specification, having weapons while under disability, possession of cocaine, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them — OVI; James M. King, 3701 Hendricks Street, Schererville, Indiana,aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also: Tasha Nicole Tirey, 5531 Hamilton Eaton Road, Hamilton, receiving stolen property; John William Overbay, 7 S. Main Street, West Alexandria, domestic violence and criminal damaging or endangering; Conner Wesley Napier, 5 Cassie Lane, West Alexandria, theft in office, theft in office, theft and theft; Robert C. Bechtol, 756 Quaker Trace Road, West Alexandria, receiving stolen property; Joseph H. Hodapp, at large, tampering with coin machines, breaking and entering, misdemeanor theft and criminal damaging or endangering, and Brian Michael Shannon, 3968 Jordan Road, West Alexandria, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
