Brookville XC teams compete in Nike Twilight Invite

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Brookville senior Dylan Ballin was a medalist at the Nike Twilight Cross Country Invitational on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Ballin placed 5th in 20:09.75 to help lead the Lady Devils to a 4th place finish in the 16 team field.

Seniors Hunter Gardner finished 24th in 21:20.57 and Serenity Suggs was 31st in 21:37.22. Freshmen Ella Renner was 34th (21:40.38) and Cayleigh Tipton was 38th (21:57.55).

Junior Lindsay Rieder finished 62nd (23:06.69), freshman Kyra Hope 89th (23:51.38), and senior Savannah Young 131st (25:51.17).

The top finisher for the Brookville boys team was senior Lucas Tipton at 22nd in 17:02.07. Juniors Christian Seitz finished 70th (18:11.55) and Greyson Florkey 76th (18:18.17).

Senior Logan Wright finished 92nd (18:31.22), junior Evan Pentecost 94th (18:32.00), freshman Sam Seitz 103rd (18:42.80), sophomore Drew Stammen 126th (19:16.15), seniors Dylan Meyers 137th (19:25.26) and Chase Puskas 143rd (19:30.82), and sophomore Luuk Fokkink 177th (20:12.80).

The Blue Devils placed 10th overall in a field of 25 teams.

Commenting on both teams efforts, Brookville coach Jon Bland said, “This was a tremendous team effort against great competition and a tough cross country course. Great job kids!”

Brookville will compete in the Southwestern Buckeye League Championships on Saturday at Eaton High School.
