TIPP CITY — Northmont junior Jazlen Simpson took 2nd place in the girls 3,200 meter race Wednesday at Kyle Park in Tipp City at the Dave Lightle Invitational to help lead the Lady Bolts to a third place finish.
Simpson crossed the finish line in 12:34.6. Michaela Flora of Newton Local took 1st in 12:18.6. Northmont sophomore Addison Brown took 4th place in 12:40.0.
Seniors Brianna Pressel finished 17th in 13:37.3 and Lilia Lopez was 24th in 13:49.8. Sophomore Abbie Weeks was 38th (14:25.2). Freshman Samantha Santana was 66th (15:41.9.
Sophomores Maddie Abbott was 72nd (16:08.8) while Emily Warren was 91st (18:00.1). Freshman Dana Rodriguez was 92nd (18:05.8) and sophomore Anna Suzuki was 97th (19:11.9).
BOYS RESULTS
Northmont sophomore Dominic Lopez took 3rd place in 9:53.9 to help lead the Thunderbolts to 3rd place in the team standings.
Tippecanoe junior Landon Kimmel took 1st place (9:25.1) and Piqua senior Noah Burgh 2nd (9:51.8). Tippecanoe also took 1st in the team scoring with Piqua 2nd.
Thunderbolt sophomores Owen Bush placed 13th (10:28.8) while Grant Mergler was 18th (10:38.4) and Adam Wallace was 44th (11:17.7).
Freshman Nick Diller finished 53rd (11:34.1), junior Chase Bishop 60th (11:42.5), freshman Noah Comer 84th (12:10.5), and sophomore Alex Moore 88th (12:13.5).
Senior Matthew Helmick was 105th (12:51.9), junior Henry Colley-Lambright 130th (13:31.8), sophomore Jacob Goble 131st (13:32.1), junior Cade Matthews 153rd (14:36.6), and sophomore Owen Sanders 168th (16:03.6).
The Thunderbolts cross country teams return to action Saturday, Oct. 12 when Northmont hosts the Greater Western Ohio Conference Championships at 9 a.m.
