BROOKVILLE — Due to the inclement weather, the Brookville High School marching band’s annual march-a-thon scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, will now take place on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The march-a-thon is the largest fundraiser conducted by the high school band.

This year the band is using the march-a-thon to raise money toward the purchase of new sousaphones.

The march-a-thon consists of three routes where the band will march through neighborhood streets playing a variety of songs.

Those individuals who donate $100, the band will stop at their houses and play a “lawn concert” consisting of the donor’s chosen song and the Brookville High School fight song.

The march-a-thon begins the first route at 10 a.m.

The band will start at Grace Brethren Church, located at 665 Westbrook Road and proceed onto Flanders Avenue. The band will march on Flanders Avenue and then turn left onto Corona Drive.

The band will continue on Corona Drive and turn right onto Rona Parkway and continue to the former Rite Aid Drug Store building where they will take a break.

The band will continue with the second route starting at 10:45 a.m. in the McMaken’s IGA parking lot.

The band will proceed onto Arlington Road where they will proceed to the old school field at 46 S. Hill St.

After a break the third route will take place at 11:30 a.m. from the old school field. The band will proceed on Hill Street to Westbook Road.

The band will turn right onto Westbrook Road and then left onto Terrace Park Boulevard.

The band will proceed on Terrace Park Boulevard and turn right onto Bayview Avenue to Brookmoor Drive and then left onto Doyle Avenue.

The band will proceed onto Jane Place where it will conclude the march-a-thon at Brookville stadium.
