Caleb Belongia Memorial Golf Outing set for Oct. 5

Belongia

ARCANUM — The Annual Caleb Belongia Memorial Golf Outing will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, at Beechwood Golf Course, 1476 Ohio 503, Arcanum.

Launched in Belongia’s honor by his mother Christina Shumway Long and best friend, Austin Nickell, this event unites those he loved to celebrate his life and passions, particularly golf, with family and friends. “Transforming tragedy into hope, we strive to raise awareness and empower our local youth,” organizers said in a release. “Over $56,000 raised in four years has strengthened Eaton High School’s Golf program to what it is today. We eagerly anticipate this year’s impact, grateful for our village of sponsors, donors, and volunteers. Future plans include supporting county youth organizations. We welcome teams, sponsors, and raffle donations to join our mission this year and years to come as we spread the love locally in Caleb’s name.”

Signups will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Beechwood dining room, there will be an 8:30 a.m. opening ceremony, and a 9 a.m. shotgun start for the four-player scramble.

Registration is $60 per player, $240 per team.

There will be several contests, including men’s and women’s long drive, closest to the pin, raffles and more.

Awards will be presented after the round. All proceeds benefit the Eaton High School Golf Team.
