KETTERING — Fairmont took a 1-0 first half lead on a goal by Abby Borland Wednesday night during a 3-1 victory over Northmont.
Maddie Blair put Fairmont up 2-0 when Northmont goalkeeper Ayla Rammel came out of the goal box to block a shot. The ball got away and squirted to the right side and Blair hammered the kick into the net.
Sophia Barker scored when she launched a kick that deflected off a Northmont player and into the left corner of the net with 13:17 left in the match.
Northmont scored on a goal by Scarlett Knaier with just 29 seconds remaining.
With the loss Northmont fell to 1-4-0 in Greater Western Ohio Conference play and 4-7-0 overall while Fairmont improved to 2-2-1 and 4-5-4 overall.
