VOLLEYBALL

Brookville

The Lady Devils improved to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in league play Tuesday with a victory over Valley View 25-11, 25-11, 25-17. Logynn Barr had nine kills, 23 set attempts, 16 total service points, three service aces, seven digs and three blocks. Sidney Sprada had eight kills, 23 set attempts, one service ace, 13 digs, and four blocks. Lauren Eller had 13 assists, 16 total service points, and three service aces. Ella Nutter had two kills, 11 set attempts, 19 total service points, seven service aces, three digs, and six blocks.

EATON

The Lady Eagles improved to 5-4 overall with a three set victory over Greenville on Sept. 9 by scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 28-26. Shandon Garrett ha 12 kills, 36 set attempts, 11 total service points, one service ace, five digs, and four blocks. Julianne Deaton had seven kills, 19 set attempts, 19 total service points, seven service aces, and three digs. Jill Ditmer had four kills, 12 set attempts, 17 total service points, two service aces, two digs, and two blocks. Lyli Collier had 10 total service points, one service ace, and four digs. Alexis Oda had two kills and seven set attempts. Ella Statzer had 10 digs. Daisy Suggs had three kills, 11 set attempts, and two blocks.

National Trail

The Lady Blazers lost in three sets to Mississinawa Valley on Sept. 10 by scores of 25-8, 25-8, 25-14. No statistics were available for National Trail. Mississinawa Valley was led by Allyson Waymire with 12 kills, 26 set attempts, 15 total service points, two service aces, 11 digs, and one block. Makenna Hoggatt had nine kills, 22 set attempts, 24 total service points, six service aces, and six digs. Danika Neargarder had 27 assists, eight total service points, one service ace, and nine digs. Caeden Fritz had 13 digs.

Northmont

The Lady Bolts lost to Butler in four sets on Monday, Sept. 9 and then bounced back to defeat Fairmont in five sets on Tuesday. Against Butler the Lady Bolts won the first set 25-20 before the Lady Aviators swept the next three sets 25-19, 25-22, 26-24. Leading the Lady Bolts was senior Lydia Bridenbaugh with 15 kills, and two blocks. Junior Jenna Hall also had an offensive night with 12 kills, and nine digs. Maddie Hager dished out 20 assists, four aces, and seven digs. Brianna Abels had 14 assists and 16 digs. Halie Hill had 13 digs. Elle Gilmore had six kills, and five blocks. Tuesday the Lady Bolts improved to 9-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play with a five set thriller victory over Fairmont with the match going into extra points in the last three sets. The Lady Firebirds won the first set 25-20. Northmont took a 19-9 lead in the second set and went on to post a 25-13 win. In the third set it was a huge lead for Northmont until Fairmont took advantage of the errors from the Lady Bolts that allowed them to tie the game at 20-20. It was a back and forth battle between the two but Fairmont took the set 25-27. In the fourth set, Fairmont took the lead and kept a steady lead until the Lady Bolts fought back and continued to battle one point at a time which helped them win set four, 26-24 which forced a 5th set and test of both teams. Fairmont had the advantage all of the 5th set while the Lady Bolts had to keep battling back. Northmont took a time out, down 9-13 but dug deep and battled back one point at a time bringing the score to 14-14. The match continued where Northmont would get match point, and Fairmont would get match point. The score eventually got to 19-18 with Northmont up. Fairmont went up to swing and Jadyn Johnson had a monster block to give the Bolts the 20-18 win.

Senior Emma Lunsford had an awesome match with nine kills. Jadyn Johnson had four kills, two aces, and six blocks. Jenna Hall had eight kills and 12 digs and two blocks. Lydia Bridenbaugh had four kills, five aces and seven digs. Maddie Hager and Brianna Abels both had 14 assists. Maddi Wadle had 15 digs.

Preble Shawnee

With a five set victory Monday at Madison 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 19-25, and 15-9 the Lady Arrows improved to 5-4 overall. Emma Fields had six kills, 15 set attempts, 14 total service points, one service ace, 25 digs and one block. Sallie Montgomery had eight kills, 20 set attempts, 17, assists, 15 total service points, two service aces, 16 digs and one block. Layla Roberts had eight kills, 20 set attempts, four total service points, and three digs. Macy Price had seven kills, 19 set attempts, 20 total service points, nine service aces, and 11 digs. Caylee Hatmaker had seven kills, 20 set attempts, nine total service points, six digs and three blocks. Ally Rike had two kills, 11 set attempts, 15 assists, 28 total service points, three service aces, and 13 digs. Emily Shields had four kills, nine set attempts, two assists, 11 total service points, three service aces, and 12 digs. Tuesday the Lady Arrows lost in five sets to Franklin Monroe 25-10, 17-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Tri-County North

The Lady Panthers lost in three sets to Twin Valley South 25-11, 25-14, 25-20 on Tuesday. Paityn Davidson led TCN with 29 digs. Taylor Cole had three kills, 13 set attempts, three assists, and one service ace. Chloe Jackson had three kills, 15 set attempt, seven total service points, and three digs. TCN fell to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play. Twin Valley South improved 6-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. No match statistic were available for Twin Valley South.

BOYS SOCCER

Brookville

With a 3-2 loss at Yellow Springs on Tuesday the Blue Devils suffered their second consecutive defeat to fall to 5-2-0 overall. Branson King had one goal and one assist. Aden Metcalf had one goal and Dominic King had an assist. Ayden Cowens made five saves in goal.

Eaton

The Eagles suffered an 8-0 shutout Tuesday to Milton-Union. Titus Copp and Logan Keys had two goals and one assist each for the Bulldogs. Mason Quesinberry had two goals, Ben Iddings one goal and three assists, and Tyler Combs one goal. Tyson Wright made six saves in goal. Eaton goalkeeper Connor Fitch allowed eight goals and made 23 saves.

Northmont

The Thunderbolts scored a 4-1 victory Tuesday over Springfield to improved to 2-2-0 in conference play and 4-3-0 overall. The Wildcats fell to 0-3-0 in the GWOC and 1-4-0 overall. Julian Bazile scored two goals and had two assists. Chris Powell had two goals and one assist and Ethan Graham had one assist for the T’bolts. Ethan Crist did not allow a goal and had three saves. Jaden Green allowed one goal and had one save. Miles Dooley scored the Wildcats lone goal. Ben Hart allowed four goals and made four saves for Springfield.

Preble Shawnee

The Arrows lost to Valley View on Tuesday 2-1 to fall to 4-3-0 overall. Ethan Fields scored the team’s lone goal. Alex Schatzle allowed tow goals and made five saves. Brayden Bell had one goal and Shane Cox a goal and assist for the Spartans. Sean Feliccia allowed one goal and had one save while Xavier Izor made five saves.

Tri-County North

The Panthers fell to 3-3-0 in conference play and 5-6-0 overall with a 4-0 loss at Dixie. Nate Emrick and Evan Marker scored two goals each and Joseph Velasquez had an assist. Goalkeeper Aiden Hammond made 10 saves.

GIRLS SOCCER

Eaton

The Lady Eagles scored a 4-0 victory Saturday at Edgewood and a 6-0 victory Tuesday against Milton-Union to improve to 4-2-1 overall. Addie Heggs had a goal and assist, Addy House, Jaelinn Miller and Myla Roberts one goal each and Autumn Gillenwater had two assists against Edgewood. Miley Moore made eight saves in goal. Against Milton-Union Addy House had four goals and one assist, Myla Roberts one goal and one assist and Adie Heggs one goal and one assist. Hannah Reddick had four saves and Mily Moore one.

National Trail

The Lady Blazers scored a 6-1 victory Monday over Ponitz to improve to 3-3-1 overall. Hannah Henderson had three goals, Lilian Cordle two goals, and Josie Stine one goal and one assist. Goalkeeper Taylor Reynolds allowed one goal and made five saves.

Northmont

The Lady Bolts defeated Springfield on Wednesday to improve to 2-4-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play. Ashlyn Bazile had three goals and one assist while Jayelin Alexander and Grace White had one goal each. Emma Poland had two assists while Abbie Hardy and Scarlett Knaier had one assist each.

Preble Shawnee

The Lady Arrows improved to 5-2-1 overall Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over Valley View. Aubrey Unger had a goal and an assist Lyla Ford one goal and Gracie Leach one assist.

Tri-County North

The Lady Panthers improved to 1-3-0 in conference play and to 5-3-0 overall with a 5-1 win Monday at Dixie. Reese Myers had two goals and two assists. Kasidi Daugherty and Hayden Shannon had one goals and Rylie Myers an assist. Goalkeeper Chloe Oliver allowed one goal and made five saves. Abigail Boehringer scored Dixie’s only goal off an assist by Emma McQueen. Goalkeeper Jaelyn McConnel allowed five goals and made 10 saves.

Twin Valley South

With a 2-0 loss to Newton on Tuesday the Lady Panthers fell to 3-2-0 in conference play and 6-2-1 overall. Brilie Hines had one goal and one assist and Mia Szakai one goal for Newton while goalkeeper Breanna Ingle made eight saves.

GIRLS TENNIS

Brookville

The Lady Devils lost 5-0 to Oakwood on Monday and 4-1 to Waynesville on Wednesday. Against Waynesville in third singles play Mackenzie Tait won Brookville’s lone match in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 10-6 (tiebreaker). Ava Brandenberry lost 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. At second singles Emily Etter lost a three-set battle 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 (tiebreaker). At first doubles Kara Thomas and Morgan Miller lost 1-6, 0-6. At second doubles Kira Volk and Mina Volk lost 2-6, 2-6.

Northmont

Northmont’s girls tennis team Sept. 4 defeated West Carrollton 5-0, went on to defeat Brookville 4-1 on Sept. 9 and Fairmont 5-0 on Sept. 10. Brookville’s lone victory came at first doubles where Kara Thomas and Morgan Miller won a thrilling match against Daisy Carpenter and Ashley Weiss 6-3, 2-6, 10-3 tiebreaker.
