VOLLEYBALL

Brookville extended its win streak to five matches with victories over Oakwood, Waynesville, Ansonia, Mississinawa Valley, and Union City to improve to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in league play.

Against Waynesville the Lady Devils won in three sets 25-15, 25-13, and 25-23. Ella Nutter had seven kills, 14 total service points, two aces, and two digs. Logyn Barr had five kills, 12 total service points, one ace, nine digs and two blocks. Lauren Eller had 17 assists, 11 total service points and five digs.

Jolie Gudorf had 16 assists, 10 total service points, one ace and 10 digs. Sidney Sprada had 24 kills, 47 set attempts, 11 total service points, and 21 digs.

Waynesville was led by Cali Layne with 13 kills and 31 set attempts while Ashley Haley had 12 digs, eight set attempts, and seven total service points.

BOYS SOCCER

Northmont

In a non-conference contest Thursday at Butler the Aviators took a 1-0 halftime lead against a Northmont team that started the match a little sluggish. The Thunderbolts played with more determination after the break to score a pair of goals to walk away with a 2-1 victory. Chris Henderson and Julian Bazile scored goals off assists by Nevin Smith in the final 20 minutes of play. Northmont improved to 3-3-0 overall while Butler fell to 4-3-1.

Brookville

The Blue Devils suffered their first loss of the season Thursday at Waynesville, 5-1. Dom King scored the Devils lone goal off an assist by Aden Metcalf. Nick Feldhaus led Waynesville with three goals and an assist. Noah Kazmierski had one goal and one assist and A.J. Turkelson also had a goal.

EATON

The Eagles improved to 2-4-0 with a 1-0 win Saturday over Edgewood. Jordan Downs scored Eaton’s lone goal. Connor Fitch made 17 saves in goal to earn the shutout.

Tri-County North

The Panthers scored a 5-1 win Saturday over Franklin Monroe to improve to 5-5-0 and 3-2-0 in conference play. Colt Barnes had a pair of goals, Chase Harry one goal and one assist, while Clint Barnes and Bryce Krinkenburger added one goal each. Travis Williamson made 16 saves in goal.

GIRLS SOCCER

Preble Shawnee

With a 4-1 victory Saturday at National Trail the Lady Arrows improved to 4-2-1 overall and 4-0-0 in conference play. Aubrey Unger got the hat trick with three goals and one assist. Lyla Ford had one goal and Alexis Leach and Kendra Sheard each had an assist. Chloe Guckian allowed one goal with three saves. National Trail’s lone goal came from Megan Irvin off an assist by Lillian Cordle. National Trail fell to 2-3-1 overall and 1-3-0 in WOAC play.

Twin Valley South

The Lady Panthers improved to 6-1-1 with a 4-2 non-conference win Saturday over Stebbins. Noelle Bassler, Katy Clopper, Kelsie Maggard, and Zoey Vaughn each tallied a goal and Lexi Thompson had two assists. Mckenzie Clouse made three saves while allowing a pair of goals.

Tri-County North

TCN improved to 4-3-0 Saturday with a 2-1 non-conference victory over Southeastern. Reese Myers scored both goals for the Lady Panthers. Chloe Oliver made six saves in goal.

BOYS GOLF

Brookville

The Blue Devils won back-to-back matches against league opponents. On Sept. 4, the Devils defeated Eaton at the Eaton Country Club 184-198. The team showcased resilience and skill, with several players achieving personal milestones.

Senior Jackson Kleismit led the charge, tying his career-best 9-hole score with an impressive 43. His leadership and consistent play set the tone for the Blue Devils’ success. Joining Kleismit with strong performances were fellow senior Troy Peak, who carded a solid 45, and freshman Jordan Vince, who posted a career-best score of 47, proving that the future of Brookville golf is bright. Rounding out the team’s performance was senior Lukas Osswald, who contributed a steady 49 to the team’s winning effort.

This victory is another step forward for the Blue Devils as they continue to improve with each match. On Sept. 5, the Blue Devils posted a 184-201 victory against Waynesville at Graywolf Golf Course. Junior Daelon Wackerman led the charge for the Blue Devils, recording a career-best score of 43 over nine holes.

“His performance was crucial in securing the win, as he demonstrated consistency and focus throughout the match,” said coach Cory Caudill. “Senior Troy Peak also played a pivotal role, finishing just behind Wackerman with a solid 44.”

Seniors Jackson Kleismit and Lukas Osswald rounded out the team’s performance with scores of 48 and 50, respectively.

GIRLS GOLF

Northmont

The Lady Bolts placed 5th at the Greater Western Ohio Conference tournament Sept. 4 at the very challenging PipeStone Golf Club in Miamisburg. Centerville took 1st place (317) followed by Springboro (329), Beavercreek (376), Fairmont (409), Northmont (459), and Miamisburg (521). Kinsley Brown of Springboro finished as medalist with a two over par round of 74. Megan Fosburg led Northmont with an 88 to place 12th overall.

GIRLS TENNIS

Brookville

The Lady Devils varsity and JV team swept Edgewood on Sept. 3.

In Varsity Action:

1st Singles Ava Brandeberry (B) defeated Maddy Kenny (E) 7-5, 7-6 (7-3).

2nd Singles Emily Etter (B) defeated Shelby Todd (E) 6-0, 6-0.

3rd Singles Mackenzie Tait (B) defeated Karoline Schrerterer (E) 6-4, 6-3.

1st Doubles Kara Thomas/Morgan Miller (B) defeated Grace Reece/Lyvia Grahovae (E) 6-0, 6-1.

2nd Doubles Lorelai Wells/Kira Volk (B) defeated Eliana Hitte (E) 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

In JV action:

Kate Ehler (B) won 8-1. Sloan Cano (B) won 8-6. Sophia Holderman (B) won 7-5. Kenley Danks/Mina Volk (B) won 8-4.

Northmont

The Lady Bolts lost to Springboro 4-1 on Sept. 3. Lily Braswell had the sole victory for the Lady Bolts winning at first singles 6-0, 6-0.
