BROOKVILLE — The picturesque but chilly confines of Golden Gate Park set the stage Saturday for the 60th annual Brookville Cross Country Invitational and fittingly the Lady Devils took 1st place in a field of 11 scoring and 17 competing teams.
Northmont junior Jazlen Simpson took 1st place in 20:04.7 followed by teammate Makenna Long in 2nd at 20:05.3.
Brookville senior Dylan Ballin took 3rd in 20:16.2 with Joelle Kaup of Ft. Recovery 4th in 20:46.8, Addison Brown of Northmont 5th in 20:59.3 and Hunter Gardner of Brookville 6th in 21:17.3.
The Lady Devils took 13th, 14th, and 15th with Cayleigh Tipton finishing in 21:42.3, Ella Renner in 21:43.0, and Serenity Suggs in 21:52.6.
Lilia Lopez (Northmont) was 23rd at 23:04.4. Lindsay Rieder (Brookville) was 27th at 23:18.8. Kyra Hope (Brookville) was 41st at 24:23.8. Savannah Young (Brookville) finished 54th in 25:36.8.
Nora Dunkle (Brookville) was 61st at 26:00.5. Samantha Santana (Northmont) was 64th at 26:11.0. Bree Fowler (Brookville) was 66th at 26:19.1. Maddie Abbott (Northmont) took 69th at 26:47.2.
Seraphine Deardurff (Brookville) finished 70th (26:50.6). Kaylin Combs (Brookville) was 77th (28:01.5). Dana Rodiguez (Northmont) was 86th (30:00.2). Madeline Allen (Brookville) was 87th (30:16.7).
Emily Warren (Northmont) finished 90th (30:39.3). Ava Ullery (Brookville) was 96th (31:06.1). Anna Suzuki (Northmont) was 102nd (32:13.2). Alexis Stegner (Brookville) took 105th (33:30.1).
BOYS RESULTS
On the boys side the Blue Devils placed 4th behind Centerville, Oakwood, and Northmont. Centerville flooded the field with a total of 52 runners.
Northmont sophomore Dominic Lopez took 1st place in 16:16.2 just ahead of runner-up Yohannes Birhane of Wayne in 16:18.3.
Lucas Tipton (Brookville) took 10th in 17:07.6 followed by Owen Bush (Northmont) 11th in 17:11.9. Grant Mergler (Northmont) was 19th (17:48.0).
Brookville runners Evan Pentecost was 35th (18:16.5), Logan Wright 36th (18:18.4), and Christian Seitz 37th (18:22.4).
Nick Diller (Northmont) took 41st (18:33.5) followed by Sam Seitz (Brookville) in 42nd (18:34.3). Greyson Florkey (Brookville) was 44th (18:35.5).
Chase Puskas (Brookville) finished 47th (18:43.3). Adam Wallace (Northmont) was 51st (18:53.6). Brookville runners Dylan Meyers was 65th (19:08.0), Drew Stammen 66th (19:09.3), and Luuk Fokkink 72nd (19:21.3).
Northmont runners Chase Bishop was 75th (19:27.8), Alex Moore 77th (19:31.9), and Matthew Helmick 87th (19:55.8).
Alex Waggoner (Brookville) was 92nd (20:07.9). Noah Comer (Northmont) was 99th (20:20.6). Henry Colley-Lambright (Northmont) was 144th (22:07.1).
Warrick Deardurff (Brookville) finished 156th (22:39.7). Jacob Goble (Northmont) was 158th (22:40.3). Bryson Murdock (Brookville) came in 163rd (22:51.6). Carson Barr (Brookville) was 165th (23:14.5).
Cole Mattews (Northmont) finished 184th (24:47.3). Colton Harris (Brookville) was 186th (24:52.4). Jacob Balcom (Brookville) took 199th (26:22.5).
Benjamin Manley (Brookville) was 204th (27:30.9). Skylar Logan (Brookville) was 206th (27:43.1). Owen Sanders (Northmont) was 208th (28:08.9), and Trent Barr (Brookville) was 214th (29:22.8).
