Monday, Sept. 9

Kinderbridge Storytime, 10-11 a.m.

Get ready for Kindergarten with stories, songs, and hands-on activity stations. Enjoy a new theme each week. Recommended for ages 3-6, and their caregiver(s). Registration is not required.

Diamond Dot Art, 6-7 p.m.

Kids ages 6-12 can put sparkly little dots all over sticky fabric in a glamorous version of color by number.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

Movers and Shakers Storytime, 10-10:30 a.m.

It’s never too early to grow a child’s love of learning. This early literacy-based program features music, dancing, rhymes, stories, and more. Kids and their adults will shake it together. Sing, dance and enjoy music, movement and fun. This program is recommended for children ages 1-4 years and all abilities are welcome. Registration is not required.

Homeschool Club, noon-1:30 p.m.

Homeschooled children ages 6-12 should pack a lunch and bring it to the library. After they eat, they’ll participate in a set of fun and educational activities with Miss Amanda. There’s a different theme each month, including science, math, social studies, creative writing, art and more. Kids can meet up with other homeschool friends and/or make new ones.

Tween Tuesday: BINGO, 3-4 p.m.

Kids in grades 5-6 will want to play the classic game for a chance to win a prize. Registration is not required.

4-H Science in the Library, 5-6 p.m.

Calling all scientists in grades 2 – 6. They can explore new topics and dig deeper with hands on STEAM activities. Registration is not required.

Walking tour of Market Street, 6-7 p.m.

Join us in collaboration with the Brookville Historical Society as we embark on a historical walking tour of Brookville’s Market Street. We’ll meet in the parking lot behind the Sunoco at 237 Market Street, head down to Wolf Creek and end up near Café 19 across the street. Along the way, hear stories from Brookville’s past, including former businesses and characters that called Market Street home.

How to Start a 4-H Club, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Those thinking about starting a 4-H Club will want to come to this program given by an agent from the Montgomery County OSU Extension Office. This discussion addresses a need for more 4-H volunteers and club leaders and provides information to interested volunteers and parents about how to start clubs locally, where to find resources, and how to create a thriving local club for youth development.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

Preschool Storytime, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Children ages 3-5 years can enjoy stories, songs (Miss Teresa plays her guitar), and other fun learning activities designed to develop the language, literacy, and social skills a preschooler needs for school success. Registration is not required.

Thursday, Sept. 12

Mother Goose on the Loose: Baby and Toddler Storytime, 10-10:45 a.m.

Bring babies and toddlers for games, songs and stories that have an early literacy base and are designed to aid in stimulating the learning process for babies and toddlers. Caregivers are encouraged to bring children from ages birth to 36 months old to join in this fun program. Registration is not required.

Teen DIY: Freezer Paper Tote Bags, 3:5 p.m.

Teens in grades 7 through 12 can use freezer paper to create a stencil for use in making a custom tote bag. All materials provided. Registration is not required.

Family Story Time, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Come to the library for quality family time with books, songs, and activities that children and caregivers can enjoy together. Geared towards K-3rd graders, but children of all ages and their families are welcome. Registration is not required.

Friday, Sept. 13

Remember When Senior Reminiscence, 10-11 a.m.

A walk down memory lane can be fun AND beneficial. It can bring about positive feelings and memories, a chance to share your experiences with others, and can even help preserve local history. Join us in this casual, social gathering where you can reminisce, share stories, and chat with others in a friendly environment.

While this program is geared toward senior citizens, it can be beneficial for caregivers or anyone who would like to chat with and learn about those with different life experiences.

Brookville Card Sharks, 1-2 p.m.

Come play your favorite card games, meet some new friends and/or bring your friends. The library will have packs of cards ready for your favorite games like euchre, bridge, poker, or whatever else you’d like to play. Registration is available but not required.

Saturday, Sept. 14

All Ages Crochet Club, 10-11 a.m.

This program is open to crafters ages 6 to adult, and crafters of all skill levels are welcome. If someone has been wanting to learn to crochet, staff will be happy to teach them. Children may need their adult to stay and help them. Crochet hooks and yarn will be provided, but crafters are also encouraged to bring their own if they wish.
