GIRLS SOCCER

Northmont

The Lady Bolts are still in search of their first victory following a 4-2 loss at home Wednesday to Beavercreek. Layla Reeves gave ‘Creek an early 1-0 lead with a goal at 38:32 in the first half. Northmont tied it on a goal credited to Chinaza Ibe at the 35:50 mark. Lucy Zollars scored at 17:18 to give the Lad Beavers a 2-1 halftime lead.

Beavercreek added goals by Reese Brown in the second half while Grace White scored for Northmont. Beavercreek improved to 2-0-0 in conference play and to 5-1-1 overall while Northmont fell to 0-2-0 in GWOC play and 0-4-0 overall.

Eaton

The Lady Eagles posted a 4-3 victory Aug. 29 over Brookville. Sophomore Adie Heggs led Eaton with two goals while Addy House had one goal and one assist and Eva Roberts had one goal. Hannah Redick allowed three goals with 12 saves.

Maddie Tarkany had a goal and an assist while Grace Taylor and Alyssa Lackey had one goal for Brookville. Kinley Kummer had an assist. The Lady Devils fell to 1-1-0 in league play and to 4-2-0 overall.

Eaton went on to defeat Franklin 3-2 on Sept. 3. Myla Roberts had a goal and an assist and Lilly Garcia had one goal. Adie Heggs and Eva Roberts each had an assist. Mily Moore made 10 saves in goal as Eaton improved to 2-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in league play. Franklin fell to 2-3-0 and 0-3-0 in the SWBL.

National Trail

The Lady Blazers scored a 10-0 victory over Stivers on Aug. 30. Sophomore Olivia Day had two goals and assist. Senior Megan Irvin had one goal and one assist. Other goals came from Lillian Cordle, Hannah Henderson, Ollie Mason, Taryn Rucci, Lily Schwieso, Maria Sorice, and Josie Stiner. Belle Anderson had one assist.

Tuesday the Lady Blazers posted a 6-1 win over Dixie. Hannah Henderson had three goals and two assists and Lillian Cordle had two goals. Oliva Day had one goal and one assist. Goalkeeper Josie Stiner allowed one goal with six saves.

Faith Ashburn scored Dixie’s lone goal off an assist by Mylie Palmer.

Preble Shawnee

The Lady Arrows defeated Twin Valley South 2-1 on Aug. 29. Aubrey Unger had a goal and an assist and Gracie Leah had the other goal. Valen Burkett scored Twin Valley South’s lone goal.

Sept. 3 Preble Shawnee posted a 5-0 victory over Tri-County North. Aubrey Unger had two goals and three assists, Lyla Ford had two goals and Josie Mondello-Garrett had one goal as the Lady Arrows improved to 3-2-1 overall and 3-0-0 in conference play. Tri-County North fell to 3-2-0 and 0-2-0 in conference play.

Twin Valley South

Twin Valley South posted a 3-1 victory over Carlisle on Sept. 3 to improve to 4-1-1 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play. Lexi Thompson scored all three goals and Lilly Wharton had one assist.

BOYS SOCCER

Northmont

The Thunderbolts lost to Beavercreek 2-0 on Sept. 3 to fall to 1-2-0 in conference play and 2-3-0. Drew Duvall and Gage Walling scored for Beavercreek and Kallen Krieman had two assists.

Brookville

The Blue Devils scored a 7-0 victory Aug. 29 over Eaton. Aden Metcalf had three goals and one assist. Roman Whorton had two goals. Beck Fowler and Branson King each had one goal and two assists. Brookville improved to 5-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in SWBL play while Eaton fell to 1-3-0 and 0-1-0.

Preble Shawnee

The Arrows improved to 2-1-0 in conference play and 4-2-0 overall with 5-1 victory Sept. 3 over Tri-County North. Ethan Fields had two goals and one assist. Donald Clark had a goal and an assist. Trent Geise and Kooper Ronto had one goal apiece. Andrew Unger made 10 saves in goal.

VOLLEYBALL

Northmont

The Lady Bolts improved to 2-2 in conference and 6-2 overall with a win against Springfield in five sets. The Lady Bolts could not control their errors last night as they had 51 errors in total which allowed Springfield to stay in the match and force five sets. Northmont did not give up when they were down 2-1 going into the 4th set and picked up the momentum to win sets four and five. It was a true test of the Lady Bolts to not give up even when making so many errors. “In sets 4 and 5 it was all about controlling our errors and finding ways to score which was why we pulled through and got the win. I am very proud of the team for fighting until the end,” stated coach Matt Bridenbaugh.

Senior Lydia Bridenbaugh had a career high 15 kills while senior Elle Gilmore and junior Jenna Hall had 10 kills each. Junior Brianna Abels dished out 30 assists and senior Maddie Hager dished out 15 assists with 7 aces. Senior Maddi Wadle had 15 digs.

Brookville

The Lady Devils improved to 3-0 in league play and 6-1 overall Tuesday with a 25-21, 25-22, 25-22 victory over Oakwood. Sidney Sprada had 22 kills and 12 digs, Lauren Eller had 16 assists and eight digs, and Jolie Gudorf had six kills, 13 assists and five digs.

Eaton

The Lady Eagles lost at Bellbrook Sept. 5 in four sets 14-25, 16-25, 25-16, 20-25. Julianne Deaton had 18 kills and Shandon Garrett had 15 kills. Kenzie Wilson had 34 assists and Ella Statzer had 19 digs.

Preble Shawnee

Preble Shawnee on Aug. 29 defeated Dixie 28-26, 25-23, 25-22. Emma Fields had eight kills and 12 digs. Sallie Montgomery had nine kills, 12 assists and eight digs. Allie Rike had 17 assists, four kills, 12 digs and one block. Caylee Hatmaker had four blocks and two kills.
