Twin Valley South girls soccer remains undefeated

WEST MILTON — After posting victories in their first two contests the Twin Valley South Lady Panthers soccer team battled Milton-Union of the Three Rivers Conference to a 2-2 deadlock Monday and then rolled to a 4-0 conference victory Tuesday against National Trail.

Senior Lilly Wharton netted both goals against Milton-Union off assists by Noelle Bassler and Karson Roell. Senior goalkeeper Makenzie Clause surrendered two goals and made eight saves.

No stats were available for Milton-Union.

Against Western Ohio Athletic Conference opponent National Trail sophomore Kelsie Maggard scored a hat trick with three goals and senior Valen Burkett scored one goal with one assist.

Senior Lexi Thompson had one assist and Wharton had two assists. Clause made three saves in goal.

For National Trail senior Belle Anderson took two shots on goal and seniors Hannah Henderson and Megan Irvin each made one shot on goal. Senior goalkeeper made 30 saves while allowing four goals.

With the victory Twin Valley South improved to 3-0-1 and 2-0-0 in conference play.

The Lady Panthers opened the season with a 3-0 non-conference win over Wayne. Kelsie Maggard netted all three goals. Jordan Ritchie had two assists and Lexi Thompson had one. Goalkeeper Makenzie Clause made three saves to earn the shutout.

In the 8-0 conference win over Dixie Lexi Thompson scored three goals with three assists and Valen Burkett had two goals. Kelsie Maggard had one goal and one assist while Zoey Vaughn and Lilly Wharton scored one goal apiece. Makenzie Clause had one save.
