Boys Soccer

Brookville

The Blue Devils defeated Springfield Shawnee 8-0 on Tuesday, Aug. 20 and Carlisle 10-0 on Thursday, Aug. 22 to improve to 3-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in league play. Aden Metcalf netted three goals against Shawnee and Branson King had two. Oscar Gonzalez, Dom King, and Sam Seitz had one goal apiece. Assists were made by Metcalf with two, Renard Allen, Gonzalez, Dom King, Danny Mansfield, and Jackson Wintrow.

Metcalf scored another hat trick against Carlisle and had one assist. Beck Fowler had two goals and one assist. Dom King had two goals and three assists. Sam Seitz also had two goals. Branson King had one goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Ayden Cowens allowed no goals in both games.

Aug. 27 the Devils scored a 7-1 win over Greeneview. Dom King and Aden Metcalf had three goals apiece and Branson King one. Beck Fowler had three assists, Renard Allen, Sam Seitz and Metcalf one assist.

Preble Shawnee

The Arrows improved to 2-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play with an 8-2 victory Thursday, Aug. 22 at Franklin Monroe and 5-4 Saturday at Madison. Ethan Fields scored three goals with one assist and Jayden Forrer had two goals and one assist and Trent Geise two goals and three assists against Fraklin Monroe. Donal Clark had one goal. Goalkeeper Andrew Unger made nine saves and allowed two goals.

Ethan Fields had two goals and two assists in the 5-4 victory over Madison. Country Ford, Trent Geise, and Colton Schroeder each had one goal and Jayden Forrer had an assist. Unger made fives saves and allowed four goals.

Aug. 27 the Arrows lost to Newton 4-3. Isaac Beidelman led Newton with three goals and Parker Kanet had one. Ethan Fields, Country Ford and Trent Geise each scored for Shawnee.

Eaton

The Eagles lost their season opener Aug. 24 vs. Richmond 2-1. Jordan Downs scored Eaton’s lone goal off an assist by Tanner Dungan. Goalkeeper Connor Fitch allowed two goals with 18 saves. Eaton lost 4-0 to Hamilton Badin on Aug. 27.

Girls Soccer

Brookville

The Lady Devils scored a 10-0 victory over Carlisle on Thursday, Aug. 22 and defeated Talawanda 2-1 on Saturday (no stats available) to improve to 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in league play.

Eaton

The Lady Eagles tied Middletown Madison 1-1 on Saturday, Aug. 24. Abby House scored Eaton’s lone goal off an assist by Myle Roberts. Goalkeeper Hannah Redick allowed one goal with six saves. Ava House netted Madison’s goal off an assist by Kinsley Walker. Goalkeeper Addison Kelly allowed one goal with 14 saves. Eaton suffered a 3-0 loss Aug. 27 to Ross.

National Trail

The Lady Blazers lost 3-1 to Newton on Thursday, Aug. 22. Gwen Holbrook had two goals for Newton and Rylee Hess one. Brynnasen Fiely, Brilie Hines, and Meg Yoder each had an assist. Goalkeeper Breanna Ingle allowed one goals with eight saves. No stats were provided for National Trail.

Saturday, Aug. 24 the Lady Blazers earned a 2-2 tie against Northeastern. Megan Irvin and Maria Source each scored a goal for National Trail and Lillian Cordle had an assist. Goalkeeper Taylor Reynolds surrendered two goals with 10 saves.

Aug. 27 the Lady Blazers lost 4-0 to Twin Valley South.

Tri-County North

The Lady Panthers improved to 3-0-0 with a 10-0 victory Wednesday, Aug. 23 over Stivers and an 8-0 win Thursday, Aug. 24 against Union County. Reese Myers had three goals and two assists, Madison Jeffers three goals, and Rylie Myers two goals and two assists against Stivers. Kassidi Daugherty had one goal while Hayden Shannon had a goal and two assists. Chloe Oliver and Hayden Shannon each had a save at goalkeeper.

Reese Myers scored three goals with three assists against Union County while Rylie Myers had three goals, Madison Jeffers two goals and Kassidi Daugherty one assist during the 8-0 win. Chloe Oliver had one save in goal.

Twin Valley South

Lexi Thompson scored three goals with three assists and Valen Burkett had two goals to help the Lady Panthers defeat Dixie 8-0 on Thursday, Aug. 22. Kelsie Maggard had one goal and one assist while Zoey Vaughn and Lilly Wharton scored one goal apiece. Makenzie Clause had one save as the Lady Panthers improved to 2-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.

Aug. 27 the Lady Panthers scored a 4-0 win over National Trail with Kelsie Maggard scoring three goals and Valen Burkett one. Clause made three saves in goal.

Volleyball

Northmont

The Lady Bolts improved to 5-0 after a sweep of Middletown on Monday, August 26th. During the first set, Middletown came out strong and took a 17-6 lead against the Lady Bolts and then improved the lead to 21-11. The Bolts were able to get to 16 points before Middletown had set point at 24-16 but the Lady Bolts did not give up and fought off 8 set points to tie the game up 24-24 and eventually took set 1, 26-24. The Lady Bolts did not look back in set 2 and 3 and won by margins of 25-12, and 25-13.

Senior, Lydia Bridenbaugh had 11 kills, and 4 digs. Senior, Maddi Wadle had 12 digs. Junior, Brianna Abels had 17 assists and 2 aces. Junior, Jadyn Johnson and Junior, Jenna Hall both had 5 kills.

Preble Shawnee

Aug. 22 the Lady Arrows lost at Franklin by scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-18. Sallie Montgomery had six kills, six assists, and nine digs. Emma Fields had four kills and nine digs and Ally Rike had three kills, four assists and three digs.

Saturday, Aug. 24 saw the Lady Arrows fall to Bethel 25-19, 25-6, and 25-19. Emma Fields had four kills, two service aces and four digs.

Aug. 27 Tri-Village rallied to defeat Shawnee 21-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-12 and 15-7.

Twin Valley South

The Lady Panthers improved to 4-0 on Aug. 20 with a victory over Middletown Madison by scores of 25-12, 25-20, and 28-26. Brylii Day had six kills, Clara Myers three kills, five service aces and six digs while Laney Mercer had three kills, two service aces and four digs.

TVS suffered its first loss of the season Thursday, Aug. 22 to Milton-Union 25-20, 25-13, and 25-22. Clara Myers had six kills, two service aces and four digs while Jayce Mowell had four kills, two service aces and five digs.

Aug. 27 TVS defeated Bradford 23-25, 25-12, 25-16, and 25-17.

Girls Tennis

Brookville

Saturday, Aug. 24 the Lady Devils tennis team placed 6th overall in the Wilmington Invitational. The team battled many different opponents and had a good day.

No. 1 Singles Ava Brandeberry placed 6th.

No. 2 Singles Emily Etter placed 5th.

No. 3 Singles Mackenzie Tait placed 6th.

No. 1 Doubles Kara Thomas/Morgan Miller placed 5th.

No. 2 Doubles Lorelai Wells/Mina Volk placed 4th.

Kira Volk also had a strong showing going 1-1 on the day.
