T’bolts golf narrowly misses win at Pipestone

MIAMISBURG — Friday, Aug. 9 at Pipestone Golf Club the Northmont boys golf team delivered a strong performance at the challenging Pipestone Golf Club but narrowly missed out on first place, losing by just one stroke to Miamisburg.

The tight competition saw Miamisburg finish with a score of 341, followed by Northmont at 342, and Wayne at 347.

Eli Siehl led the Northmont team with an outstanding score of 76, showcasing his skill and composure on a course known for its difficult elevation changes and fast greens.

In his varsity debut, Eli Morgan made an immediate impact, shooting a solid 88, matching the score of Jack Siehl, Eli’s brother, who also carded an 88.

Hayden Davis contributed a 90, while Carson Auxier posted a 92, demonstrating resilience on a tough course. Brady Canan faced challenges but persevered to finish with a 100.

Tuesday, Aug. 13 during the Wayne Invitational at Sugar Isle Golf Club the Thunderbolts in their fourth match of the season finished 6th out of 15 teams with a score of 340.

Hayden Davis led the team with a standout performance, breaking the 80 barrier for the first time this season with an impressive 78.

Jonas Roberts, back from injury, and Eli Siehl both shot an 87, contributing to the team’s success.

Eli Morgan, in only his second varsity match, remained consistent with an 88, a score matched by Brady Canan, who showed marked improvement in his putting, averaging less than two putts per hole for the first time this season.

Jack Siehl rounded out the team with a strong 89.

“This match marked a significant milestone for the team, as it was the first time all players shot under 90 strokes, setting them up well for the rest of the season,” said Northmont coach Zach Kirby. “The team is now looking ahead to their first home match of the season against Beavercreek on August 19, where they hope to build on this momentum.”

The Thunderbolts host Beavercreek on Monday and Piqua on Wednesday at Meadowbrook at Clayton.
