T’bolts golf team takes 12th at Miamisburg Invite

MIAMISBURG — The Northmont High School boys varsity golf team faced a challenging test Aug. 6 at the Miamisburg Invitational, held at the demanding Pipestone Golf Club.

Known for its dramatic elevation changes and lightning-fast greens, the course pushed the skills and determination of all 24 teams in the tournament. Despite the tough conditions, the Northmont team fought hard and secured a commendable 12th place finish.

Leading the charge for Northmont, Hayden Davis shot an impressive 82. Davis showed remarkable touch on the greens, averaging just 1.61 putts per hole, which was crucial on a course where precision putting was key.

Brady Canan followed closely with a score of 86, demonstrating consistency by hitting 50% of greens in regulation with his tee shots finding 71 percent of the fairways—a performance that underscored his steady play under pressure.

Eli Siehl finished the day with a 90, while his twin brother, Jack Siehl, carded a 91, averaging 1.88 putts per hole. Both brothers faced the course’s challenges head-on, showcasing their perseverance in navigating Pipestone’s tricky layout.

Carson Auxier, in his debut at this course, posted a solid 93. Despite the unfamiliar terrain, Auxier maintained an average of 1.83 putts per hole, displaying composure and adaptability in his first outing at Pipestone.

The Northmont boys varsity golf team’s performance at the Miamisburg Invitational was a strong showing of their grit and potential.

“Competing against some of the best teams in the region, they proved that they can hold their own on a demanding course,” said Northmont coach Zach Kirby. “With this 12th place finish, the team has set a solid foundation for the rest of the season and will look to build on this experience in future tournaments.

“The boys continue to impress with their determination and skill, and the Northmont community can look forward to more great performances in the weeks ahead,” Kirby added.
