Derby Days brings the fun to Lewisburg

Derby Days in Lewisburg brought the fun to the village Thursday, Aug. 8-Saturday, Aug. 10. With music and games, vendors and lots of food, there was something for everyone at the annual event which helps kick off festival season in Preble County. Thursday’s fun included the traditional Kiddie Tractor Pull and Egg Drop, with Kiddie Tractor Pull winners including ages 3-4, Mason Powell with a 3’ 2” total; ages 5-6, Dallas Hemp with a 15’ total and ages 7-8, Bristol Woodall with a 22’ 4” total. Egg Drop winners included ages 7-11, Tori Youngerman; ages 12-16, Bella Cherry and ages 17 and up, Mitchell Bussard. The talent show let area residents show off their various talents. Saturday of the festival kicked off with a parade and included the festival’s namesake soap box derby race, and Derby Days closed Saturday evening with its usual grand fireworks display.
