T’bolts golf team 5th at Greenville Invitational

GREENVILLE – The Northmont High School boys varsity golf team Aug. 1 scored 338 to place 5th during the Greenville Invitational at Turtle Creek Golf Course.

The four lowest scores recorded by players from each competing school determined each team’s results.

Tippecanoe took 1st place with a score of 311. Red Devils’ junior Max Gustavson and Matt Dieperink of Covington each scored 74 to finish as co-medalists.

Northmont’s collective effort was made possible by each player contributing to the overall performance. Here’s a closer look at the individual scores and highlights from the match:

• Hayden Davis led the T’bolts with a solid score of 81. His consistency and skill on the course were key factors in setting the pace for the team.

• Close behind, Eli Siehl also demonstrated excellent form, finishing with a score of 82. His precise shots and strategic play were crucial in maintaining the team’s competitive edge.

• With a score of 86, Brady Canan contributed solidly to the team’s overall score. His steady performance under pressure was a testament to his dedication and focus.

• Jonas Roberts scored 89, showing resilience and determination throughout the match. His ability to recover from challenging situations was commendable and added valuable points to the team’s total.

• Jack Siehl finished with a score of 91. His commitment and effort were evident as he navigated the course, helping to bolster the team’s final score.

• Rounding out the team, Carson Auxier scored 94. Despite facing tough competition, Carson’s perseverance and team spirit were instrumental in achieving the overall team score of 338.

According to Northmont coach Zachary Kirby the golf team’s performance was a collective effort that highlighted the strengths and capabilities of each player. Kirby noted that the team’s ability to maintain composure and deliver consistent scores underlines its potential and readiness for future challenges with the match serving as a significant stepping stone, building confidence and camaraderie among the players.

“Each player gave their best and showed great sportsmanship,” Kirby said. “The scores reflect their hard work and dedication. I am proud of their progress and look forward to seeing them grow even more as a team.”
