The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday, July 11, Clayton 240000731: An unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle on Rymark Court and removed two handguns, a Sig Sauer M18 and a Glock 19.

Clayton 240000732: An unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle on Cheri Lynne Drive and removed a cell phone, a laptop computer and bag, work keys and I.D., credit cards, and checking account information. A neighbor found the stolen items lying in his yard. The victim reviewed the recovered property and said only the credit cards were missing.

Friday, July 12, Clayton 240000737: An unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle in the 6400 block of Riverbend Dr. and removed a Milwaukee M18 vacuum, drill set, a Field Pierce volt/ohm meter and Klein tool bag containing miscellaneous tools.

Saturday, July 13, Brookville 2400237: During a traffic stop a set of brass knuckles was located and two fully loaded magazines for a handgun. The driver was issued a warning for failure to signal. The passenger had a warrant out of Florida outside of the pickup area. Both subjects were released.

Clayton 240000744: A male subject was issued a criminal trespass warning at Garden Woods Apartments.

Sunday, July 14, Brookville 2400238: A resident found a set of keys on the sidewalk in front of his house and turned them over to police. An attached fob was shaped like a house with “Arbor Homes” stamped on it.

Brookville 2400239: Three juveniles damaged a stairway wall in an apartment building in the 100 block of Sycamore St. The agent for the building signed a refusal to prosecute form but requested police to trespass the juveniles from the property.

Monday, July 15, Brookville 2400241: A threats complaint was investigated at Brookhaven. The victim signed a refusal to prosecute.

Tuesday, July 16, Clayton 240000753: Burglary was reported on Rangeview Drive. An unknown subject entered the home and dumped trash on the floors, threw TVs and other items on the floor, and caused damage to rooms throughout the house. The backyard swimming pool was cut open and the outside faucet was left on flooding much of the backyard.

Friday, July 19, Brookville 2400246: Shane T. Smith, 40, of Brookville, arrested on warrant on an original charge of dogs running at large. Smith was transported to the county jail.

Clayton 240000754: Criminal damaging to a vehicle was reported in the Northmont High School parking lot.

Clayton 240000759: Unknown subjects entered an unlocked vehicle on Tammy Circle and stole an Apple MacBook and a pair of Apple Air Pods.

Clayton 240000761: Police responded to Rymark Court where three subjects were observed getting into unlocked vehicles. A purse was found lying in the roadway. A stainless with pink handle Smith & Wesson 38 Special revolver was removed from the center console of one vehicle and $200 cash from a purse was stolen.
