ENGLEWOOD — Happy Paws & Claws Veterinary Clinic held a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday as part of its grand opening at 55 Hillside Ct., Englewood. The driveway is at the very end of the cul-de-sac.

Angela Melton, DVM performed the ribbon cutting surrounded by her staff, husband Jared, city officials and members of the Northmont Area Chamber of Commerce.

The full-service veterinary clinic treats all kinds of critters.

“We treat small birds, not like the big macaws. I love reptiles – any of the snakes, lizards and turtles, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters, sugar gliders, all of the fuzzy small things, in addition to dogs and cats,” Melton said.

Melton previously practiced at Northgate Animal Hospital in Huber Heights for 12 years and prior to that was at Kettering Animal Hospital for seven years before deciding to open her own veterinary clinic in Englewood.

Melton purchased the Hillside Court location in September 2023 and did remodeling and construction to make the 2,700 square foot building suitable for veterinary care. The final inspections were conducted and approved the week of July 8.
