CAMDEN — Preble Shawnee Local Schools said goodbye to its director of curriculum, Jaime Peaso, at its Tuesday, July 9, meeting, and approved the hiring of her replacement.

“I just wanted to stop in and one last time and just thank the board for the past 10 years. It’s been an incredible place to work. The community’s been amazing. And I made so many friendships and built such great relationships with the staff that I’m really truly going to miss so many people here,” Peaso told the board. “Hopefully we’ll still be able to make some of those sporting events and stuff to see people. I just didn’t want to leave without saying thank you to the board. And also, to all the staff just for an amazing time here.”

“We appreciate your time Jaime. You have been very dedicated to the district and I hate to lose you, but excited for you at the same time,” Board President Julie Singleton told Peaso.

“With Jaime leaving after doing a great job for us, we were hopeful we could find somebody and we had three good candidates. We did do an interview process. And I would like to announce Mary Snellgrove as our new director of curriculum. She could not be here tonight due to a prior vacation,” Superintendent Todd Bowling said in his recommendation for Peaso’s replacement. “And, I’d like tell Jamie, thank you — the staff is going to miss her and so is everybody else. She was a big part of what we did here.”

Snellgrove is currently employed at Mt. Healthy, and prior to that she was at Butler County ESC as a curriculum coaching coordinator, according to Bowling. Her contract begins Aug. 1 and will run through July 31, 2026, at a salary of $85,500.
