CLAYTON — Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck recently spoke to the Northmont Rotary at Meadowbrook at Clayton.

Heck, who has held office since 1992, reviewed the various divisions within the prosecutor’s office and explained their functions.

While most people are probably familiar with the Criminal Division, the office also includes the Adult Protection Unit, the Child Abuse Bureau, the Grand Jury Section, and the Consumer Fraud Unit, to name a few.

Heck reviewed how crimes and other cases come to the attention of the prosecutor’s office, their involvement with law enforcement, and some of the newer technology that is utilized to prosecute cases.

The Northmont Rotary Club meets at noon each Tuesday at Meadowbrook at Clayton, 6001 Salem Ave., Clayton.
