Community picnic to feature talent show

BROOKVILLE — The Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce announces the inaugural talent show, “Brookville’s Got Talent,” to be held as part of the 73rd annual Brookville Community Picnic on Friday, July 26, at 4 p.m. at Golden Gate Park, located at 545 Upper Lewisburg-Salem Road.

The new event, organized by the Brookville Alumni Association, promises to showcase the diverse and impressive talents of the Brookville community.

Entry fee is $20 for each act audition.

Each act must be under five minutes.

Anyone wanting to submit a video audition may email it to [email protected].

To email large video files, it is recommended the applicant use WeTransfer, or upload the video to YouTube and then email the YouTube link.

The deadline to submit a video audition is Wednesday, July 10.

In-person auditions will be held Thursday, July 11, at the Leiber Center in Golden Gate Park. Anyone wanting to audition in person must register by email to [email protected] by July 10.

Each act will receive one complimentary tee shirt, with the option to purchase additional shirts.

“We are excited to offer this new platform for our community members to showcase their talents,” Angie Dull of the Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce Member Relations Specialist Angie Dull said.

“From singers and dancers to magicians and comedians, we welcome all types of performances,” Dull added.

The 2024 picnic is scheduled for July 25-27. The event will feature a a variety of activities including music, rides, tractors and steam engines, vendors, food trucks, games, activities and more.

The Brookville Community Picnic is an annual event organized by the Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce, bringing together residents and visitors for a weekend of fun, food, and community spirit.

The Brookville Alumni Association exists to bring recognition, provide community service, and continue friendships.

The organization of Brookville’s Got Talent marks another step in the association’s commitment to enhancing the Brookville community.
