EATON — The Preble County Historical Society recently recognized National Trail Middle School sixth graders Owen Koger and Chloie Unger for being awarded a special history preservation plaque on Friday, May 17. Last fall, PCHS Executive Director Lisa White and National Trail Social Studies teacher Tyler Luce paired up to teach students about effective interviewing skills, open ended questions and the importance of interviewing people who have stories to tell. The two students captured two great interviews and were awarded for their work, according to White. “In fact, we learned how precious those moments were when finding out one of the persons being interviewed passed away a few short weeks later,” White noted. “Now this student and their family have this incredible memory to hold onto. These interviews can be found under the Podcast and Documentary tab at www.preblecountyhistoricalsociety.com.
