VERO BEACH, Fla. — During their annual spring break trip to Florida the Northmont baseball team has scored one victory in three games.
Tuesday the Thunderbolts scored a 14-1 victory over Milwaukee King with Chase Fuduloff getting four hits in four at bats. He doubled in the first and fourth innings and belted a single in both the third and fifth innings and scored four runs.
Northmont took a four run lead in the top of the first inning when Brady Whitaker singled to drive in one run, Drake Sauber hit a sacrifice fly two bring in two runs and Brady Canan singled to score another run.
The Thunderbolts increased their lead in the top of the third when Canan hit a sacrifice fly, Austin Welch singled and Cooper Lykins singled each scoring one run.
Whitaker earned the victory for Northmont. He gave up one hit, no earned runs, with five strikeouts and one walk over two and two-thirds innings.
Brady Lupton pitched one and two-thirds innings in relief without surrendering a hit or a walk while recording three strikeouts.
Northmont generated 19 hits overall. Welch and Canan each drove in three runs. Lupton went 2 for 3 with two RBI and scored three runs. Jamir Ross went 2 for 5 and scored twice. Whitaker went 2 for 3 with one run and one RBI. Lykins 2 for 3 with two RBI.
Lupton and Fuduloff both stole two bases as the Thunderbolts tallied seven total steals.
Monday the Thunderbolts led 5-1 in the fifth inning against the Evanston ‘Wildkits’ and the game was tied at six in the bottom of the sixth Owen Vander Velde drew a bases loaded walk to lift Evanston to a 7-6 victory.
Northmont generated 10 hits. Fuduloff led the T’bolts with three hits in four at bats. Lupton went 2 for 5.
Wednesday the Thunderbolts suffered an 11-7 loss to the Langley Saxons. Ross went 1 for 2, scored twice and had one RBI. Jacob Beck went 1 for 4 with one run and one RBI.
