WEST ALEXANDRIA — The Twin Valley South softball team scored 10 runs in the first inning Tuesday on the way to scoring a 15-4 victory over Legacy Christian.
Kelsie Maggard and Amelia Suggs both hit inside the park home runs to score a pair of runs in the first inning. Abby Crouse singled to drive in one run, Ryliee Caldwell singled to score a run and Kynlee Metzger singled to drive in two runs.
Maci Arndts also drive in a run on a ground out.
Legacy Christian got one run the first inning on a ground out by Esther Augustine.
Twin Valley South added to its lead in the bottom of the third when Maggard singled to drive in a run, Crouse hit a two RBI triple and Arndts grounded out to bring another runner home.
The Lady Panthers generated 10 hits. Crouse and Metzger each had three hits. Crouse, Metzger, and Maggard each drove in three runs.
Hannah Thorpe earned the victory for TVS giving up one hit and one run over three innings with five strikeouts and one walk. Sidnee Elswick pitched two innings in relief giving up three runs on one hit with a walk and two strikeouts.
Emily McFadden took the loss for Legacy Christian surrendering 10 hits and 15 runs, seven earned, over four innings with four strikeouts and three walks.
Esther Augustine led Legacy Christian with one RBI while Jocelyn Miller and Ali Solomon each got one hit. McFadden stole two bases.
The Lady Panthers opened the season with a 9-3 loss to Valley View.
