The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday, Oct. 19, Union 23000000435: An unknown subject smashed the front and rear passenger side windows on a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 500 block of Sheets St. Nothing was taken from inside the vehicle.

Saturday, Oct. 21, Brookville 2300447: Timothy A. Sowards III, 25, of Springfield, was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a Brookville warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under suspension. Sowards was turned over to a Brookville officer and transported to the county jail.

Sunday, Oct. 22, Brookville 2300449: A 12-year-old male was charged with theft for stealing $50 from his father and using the money to purchase a prepaid cell phone at Dollar General. Charges were forwarded to Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Monday, Oct. 23, Brookville 2300450: Police responded to the post officer on the report of an aggressive dog running loose. The officer was familiar with the dog from past incidents. The officer was also dispatched to the area of Market Street near Columbia on another dog at large. Both dogs belonged to the same owner. Shane T. Smith, 36, of Brookville, was charged with animal at large and issued a court summons.

Union 23000000443: Arianna J. Walker, 23, of Union, was charged with having an open container in a motor vehicle. She was issued a court summons and released.

Tuesday, Oct. 24, Brookville 2300453: Aaron J. White, 26, of Bronx, NY, was charged with theft at Dollar General. He was transported to the county jail.

Brookville 2300454: Police responded to Dollar General on a vandalism complaint. A female subject who was upset about her husband being arrested for theft a few hours earlier, entered the store and confronted the manager by yelling and cursing at her. The female subject then stated that she was going to “act a fool” and began to knock over the que line and broke the security frame at the front door. The female also shoved numerous items out place and knocked over a shelf scattering merchandise on the floor and causing a large mess. She then tried to tip the beverage container over but was unable to and only caused the drinks to fall over. She then fled the store. An officer at the store obtained a description of the female’s vehicle and Chief Jerome and Officer Snell were able to locate the vehicle and pull it over. Zinajah White, 28, of Bronx, NY, was charged with vandalism and transported to the county jail.

Union 23000000444: Fraud was reported in the 200 block of Marrett Farm Rd. An unknown subject hacked into a resident’s Amazon account which has credit card info linked to it and purchased a $150 Amazon gift card. The victims cancelled their credit card.

Wednesday, Oct. 25, Brookville 2300457: Jorge A. Jimenez-Arzate, 28, of Canutillo, Texas, was charged with parking in designated fire lane is prohibited on Walker Court. His tractor trailer was towed. Jimenez-Arzate was issued a court summons and provided with a courtesy ride to the Brookville Inn.

Saturday, Oct. 28, Union 23000000452: Christopher T. Super, 35, of Brookville, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, marked lanes and headlights required, and transported to the county jail. While being transported to jail Super made threats towards the officer. He was also charged with menacing.

Monday, Oct. 30, Union 23000000457: A resident reported that she had been notified that a bank account had been opened in her name without her knowledge. The person that opened the account provided the victim’s name, Social Security number, date of birth, email address and home address. The victim does not know how her information was stolen.

Tuesday, Oct. 31, Union 23000000460: Jamal D. Green, 30, of Union, was charged with driving without the owner’s consent. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.
