Dogs removed from Brookville business

BROOKVILLE — Officers from the Brookville Police Department and the Tactical Crime Suppression Unit Task Force on Friday, Oct. 27 removed several dogs while serving a search warrant at a Brookville business called Dayton Dog Trainer, LLC.

During the execution of the search warrant, seven dogs at the business being operated at a home on Upper Lewisburg Salem Road were removed.

Two dogs were returned to their owners while the other five were taken to the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center. The other five have been reunited with their owners.

The search warrant was generated after about 30 people reported taking their dogs to the business for training, but after picking them up stated their dogs had not been trained and had not been properly cared for.

One dog allegedly died a day after its owner picked it up.

When authorities searched the home, they found seven dogs in crates in a half-finished basement.

Investigators believe that 30 dogs are victims of the business, but there could be as many as 60 more.

The business received poor reviews on the website, Yelp, which publishes crowd-sourced reviews about businesses. Several reviews gave the business the lowest rating possible with accusations of neglect, abuse, and scamming people out of thousands of dollars.

Investigators encourage anyone that thinks they may be a victim to contact Sgt. Jeff Muncy with the Miamisburg Police Department.
