MORAINE — With a 211-225 victory over Fairmont Tuesday at Moraine Country Club, the Northmont girls golf team won its second straight match.

Monday the Lady Bolts defeated Beavercreek on a scorecard tie breaker 220-220.1. The match was played on the long and tough front nine at Beavercreek Golf Club.

Number five player, sophomore Sydney Schmaltz, provided the tie breaking score of 66 to give Northmont its first nine hole win of the season and first win over Beavercreek in many years.

“This was a great example of how every score and every shot counts,” said Northmont coach John Lemmon.

Despite shooting a season low score Wednesday, the Lady Bolts lost to Tippecanoe 187-200 at Cassel Hill Golf Course in Vandalia.

Second year player, sophomore Megan Fosburg, led Northmont with a personal best round of 43 including a birdie on hole No. 2.

“This score is the lowest we have seen in over three years and is more proof the program is heading in the right direction,” Lemmon said.
