loses to Miamisburg

CLAYTON – On Aug. 15 the Northmont girls golf team lost at home 226-198 to Miamisburg. Ally Turner, the No. 1 ranked golfer in the Southwest District, led the Lady Vikings with a 38 while Megan Noel shot a 40.

The Lady Bolts were without the services of their No. 3 player on a rainy afternoon at Meadowbrook at Clayton.

The highlight of the match for Northmont was senior Emma Thayer hitting her longest drive of the day on the par five, hole 17 leaving her just 152 yards from the green. Thayer used a six iron for her approach shot that landed on the green and rolled to within four feet of the pin.

Thayer carefully read the tricky downhill putt to drop it in for an eagle.

“That was her first eagle in competition and an impressive high point, so far, to her final year as a Bolt. Emma is truly leading by example and her hard work seems to be paying off,” said coach John Lemmon.
