EATON — The Preble County Mental Health & Recovery Board and Suicide Prevention Coalition are hosting the 12th annual Walk to Remember, Walk for Hope on Sept. 23 in Eaton.

This 5K event is dedicated in memory of those lives lost to suicide and to bring awareness to the importance of mental health care, according to organizers. All proceeds benefit local suicide prevention programming. Over 100 walkers have participated in past events.

This year’s 5K kicks off at 10 a.m., starting and finishing at the Eaton High School Wellness Center. The route will take participants through Fort Saint Clair Park.

“This year, to further remember those we have lost in our community to suicide we will be placing pictures of those loved ones lost along the walkway,” organizers said in a press release. “You can register and submit photos of your loved one online now at www.pcmhrb.org/walk-to-remember-walk-for-hope.html.”
