BROOKVILLE — Shelley Shepard Gray and Laurie Stroup Smith will visit the Brookville Branch Library on Tuesday, July 18, from 6:30-7:30. The authors of Amish fiction are scheduled to discuss their writing processes and sign copies of their books.

Gray is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of many Amish and Inspirational fiction novels and series. Some of her Amish series include the “Berlin Bookmobile,” “Walnut Creek,” and “Amish of Hart County.” She has also written inspirational fiction series such as “Dance With Me” and the “Bridgeport Social Club.” She’ll introduce attendees to her newest series, “A Season in Pinecraft.” Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author.

“I started writing about the Amish because their style of life appealed to me. I wanted to write stories about regular, likeable people in extraordinary situations-and who just happened to be the Amish,” Gray says via her website, “Getting the opportunity to write Inspirational novels is truly gratifying. With every book my faith grows stronger. And that makes me feel special indeed.”

Smith has written a trilogy called “The Pocket Quilt Series.” According to the bio on her website, writing Amish fiction and contemporary romance, she strives to inspire readers to serve others. Smith lives with her husband and their two daughters in Cincinnati.
