Brookville school board hires teachers

BROOKVILLE — The Brookville Local Schools board of education hired four teachers for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board approved a one-year limited contract for Amanda Davis as an elementary teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board approved a one-year limited contract for Abigail Bulach as an elementary teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board approved a one-year limited contract for Riley Cruse as an elementary intervention specialist for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board approved a one-year limited contract for Jeremy McGhee as an industrial arts teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.

In other business, accepted the retirement resignation of high school assistant principal Lynne Sayre-Nickell, effective July 31, 2023.

The board approved a one-year limited contract for David Williamson as a bus driver for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board also approved a one-year limited contract for Gloria Gonzalez as a custodian for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board approved the following certified extracurricular contracts:

• Frank Allen – seventh and eighth grade football assistant coach

• Madeline Bazelak – girls basketball junior varsity/assistant coach

• Deana Herbert – wrestling assistant coach

• Brian Sprada – varsity/reserve football assistant coach

• Caleb Vincent – seventh and eighth grade cross country head coach

The board approved the following classified extracurricular contracts:

• Matt Bridenbaugh – volleyball assistant coach

• Shawn Harris – varsity wrestling head coach

• Alexis Phipps – marching band assistant

• Peyton Ryan – seventh and eighth grade basketball cheerleading coach

The board employed Jacob Holland and Caleb Via as summer custodial maintenance help on a casual labor basis.

The board accepted the resignation of industrial arts teacher Pete Chakiris and elementary teacher Kate Green, effective July 31, 2023.

The board accepted the resignation of paraprofessional Yessica Burgoin-Lara and bus driver Sue Caplinger, effective May 25, 2023.

The board accepted the resignation of cafeteria cook/cashier Laurie Via, effective May 26, 2023.

The board accepted the resignation of Sam Sampson as seventh and eighth grade football assistant coach and varsity wrestling head coach for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board accepted the resignation of Shawn Harris as assistant wrestling coach for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board approved the participation in Muse Machine for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board declared it impractical to transport students attending Chaminade-Julienne Catholic High School, Germantown Christian School and Salem Christian Academy by the Brookville Local Schools’ transportation department for the 2023-2024 school year.
