BROOKVILLE — Ron Miatti and Michelle Bonnett addressed council on the services provided by Fibre Glast, located at 385 Carr Drive.

According to the Fibre Glast website, the company “specializes in the distribution of fiberglass and other composite materials.

“We distribute and sell fiber glass Kevlar, carbon fiber, epoxies and resins all over the globe,” Miatti, who is in charge of business development, said.

Bonnett, the company’s customer service supervisor, added Fibre Glast sells its products to everybody.

“We serve tens of thousands of customers in aerospace, automotive, marine, power generation, prototyping, modeling and myriad other applications,” Bonnett said.

Bonnett said the company is currently concentrating on the wind industry.

“Right now our big focus is the north American wind market. With over 70,000 wind turbines, we offer a full range of composite materials for the blade repairs,” Bonnett said.

Bonnett noted the company, founded by a woman, was sold two years ago to an investment group.

Bonnett said in order to keep the atmosphere of a small woman-owned business, the wives of the investment group bought into the company.

“All of the board members are women, who supply the capital for the business,” Bonnett said.

Bonnett said the investment group’s plan is to grow the business.

“They’ve set some very lofty goals over the next five years and are hoping to double the business we’ve been doing now,” Bonnett said.

To help achieve that goal, Miatti said the company plans to have more direct contact with customers.

“We are mostly an inbound website, phone call business, but we’re starting to do more outreaching and going to see customers, Miatti said.

Bonnett said the company has 20 employees with six of the employees located in the warehouse on Carr Drive.
