South sets four records to win Dixie invite

NEW LEBANON — It was a record setting day for Twin Valley South’s boys track team at the 3rd Annual Dixie Greyhounds Invitational on Thursday, April 6.

The Panthers set four new meet records en route to winning the meet with 112.75 points. Valley View was second with 99.5. Eaton finished fourth with 57, while Preble Shawnee was 10th with 23 and Tri-County was 11th with 20.

On the girls’ side, Eaton was fourth with 67 points. Preble Shawnee was ninth with 29. Twin Valley South finished 13th with five points and Tri-County North was 14th with four points.

South’s Cole Bishop set a new record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.47 seconds.

Bishop also won the 200 and 400 meters in 23.61 and 53.03, as well a completing taking home first place in the long jump with a leap of 19.10.

Whyatt Lakes set two new marks in the hurdles. He won the 110 highs in 16.45 and took the 300 in 41.47.

The Panthers 4×400 relay team of Eaton Kurtz, Griffin Roell, Parker Mershon and Lakes won in a meet record 3:41.52.

Roell finished second in the 80 with a time of 2:05.6 and he was third in the 1,600 with a time of 4:56.11.

Nathan King was eighth in the 3,200 in 11:02.98.

Mershon finished sixth in the 300 hurdles in 45.99.

The 4×200 relay team was third in 1:39.69 and the 4×800 team was second in 9:11.24.

In the high jump, Jake Sarver finished first clearing 5-10 and Eric Allison was seventh at 5-2.

Mershon was eighth in the shot put at 37-7.5

For Eaton, Jordan Downs finished sixth in 12.37 in the 100 meters.

In the 400, Teruki Sato was eight in 57.76.

Wes Kitchin was fifth in the 800 in 2:07.56 and Tanner Davis was eighth in 2:16.46.

In the 1,600, Kolby Hamilton was second in 4:48.42.

The 4×200 relay team finished fourth in 1:40.40.

The 4×400 relay was sixth in 3:57.47 and the 4×800 relay team was third in 9:20.38.

Wyatt Sasser placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 17-9.5.

In the pole vault Logan Littrell was fourth, clearing 11-0 and Ryan Burns was sixth at 10-0.

In the shot put, Devon Rader was second with a toss of 43-4.5.

For Eaton’s girls, Addison Guiley was third in 1:05.2.

In the 800, Kiera Elliott was second in 2:28.30 and Josie Eilerman was sixth in 2:45.62.

Cami McCloud was fourth in the 1,600 in 6:13.00.

Ally Schmidt placed fourth in the 100 hurdles in 18.98.

In the 300 hurdles, Rachel Hawley was seventh in 59.66.

The 4×100 relay team was fourth in 55.99. The 4×200 relay was sixth in 2:02.70. The 4×400 relay team was third in 4:29.66 and the 4×800 relay team finished first in 11:06.85.

In the long jump, Elise Simmons was eighth with a jump of 13-2.

Delaney Deaton finished second in the discus with a throw of 108-3.

For Preble Shawnee’s boys, Xavier Deaton was eighth in 12.44. He was also second in the 200 in 25.38.

Jackson Weber placed fourth in the 300 hurdles in 45.62.

The 4×400 relay team was fifth in 3:56.13 and the 4×800 team was eighth in 9:37.06.

Copper Shrout finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 102-9 and he was third in the shot with a toss of 42-6.5

For Preble Shawnee’s girls, Ashleigh Mondello-Garrett was fourth in the 400 in a time of 1:05.85.

The Arrows 4×100 relay was sixth in 57.84. The 4×200 team was fourth in 2:02.33, while the 4×400 team was seventh in 4:57.61 and the 4×800 team was sixth in 12:34.86.

Olivia Riggs was fifth in the high jump, clearing 4-4.

In the long jump, Sallie Montgomery was second, going 15-0.

For Tri-County North’s boys, Colt Barnes was fifth in the 110 hurdles in 18.48 and Alex Mackellar was eighth in 19.48.

Barnes finished fifth in the 300 hurdles in 45.84.

Jonathan Landis won the pole vault for the Panthers clearing 12-6.

For Tri-County North’s girls, Madison Jeffers finished eighth in the 300 hurdles in 1:01.04 and was fifth in the high jump at 4-4.

For South’s girls, Valen Burkett was sixth in the 200 with a time of 29.95. Karsyn Roell was seventh in the 400 in 1:10.50.
